blizzard 680lt plow for kubota rtv900

I just purchased a 680lt plow for my rtv900 and I can not get the undercarriage to mount to the machine. I removed the front brush guard and used a jack to lift the carriage in place. I tightened the 4 bolts to the bumper but the back of the carriage is a good 3/16" to 1/4" from the machine and is not parallel to the steel frame of the machine. I could not get the 2 bolts to screw into the skid plate, not long enough. I then loosened the 4 bolts on the bumper thinking I would try to start the two back bolts first then the 4 on the bumper. Was not happening, no luck. I ended up stripping one of the bolts. So, I tightened the 4 on the bumper and decided to look at things a little closer. When I did that I noticed the undercarriage behind the bumper did not fit properly either. Even though the 4 bolts were tight, the back of the undercarriage was not flush with the backside of the bumper, it was on an angle. I noticed the top spacers welded to the undercarriage were two pieces(one welded on top of the other) and the top of each is on a slight angle. I was thinking about grinding those down but that would make the gaps wider. Has anyone had similiar problems. To me, the pieces should be a tighter fit and it should not be anywhere near this difficult to mount that undercarriage to the machine. I do not want to go thru this every year.

Thanks jim

I purchased my Blizzard 720LT with my RTV, so the dealer installed it. I do know that the 1100 and 900 require different undercarriage mounting kits. The one for the 900 is #B35062. Mine fits perfectly and I couldn't be more satisfied with the ease of mounting and dismounting with Blizzards power mount system. Good luck.

Thanks Doug,

what's your dealers #?, its hard to find people that have installed these on the kubota. Do you put any weight in the bed?

My dealer is Snell's Equipment in Potsdam NY. No I don't use any weight in the back. I have worksite tires and so far haven't slipped in two days of plowing (uphill and down, with full lock on the steering and full angle on the blade.) Four wheel drive, of course, but haven't had to use the diff lock. If you bought the Blizzard and had it shipped to you, do you have the correct undercariage package?

BTW, I'm finally starting to get more comfortable with shifting. Pressing harder on the brake and waiting a second or two seems to help.

Are you in northern NY? Next time I talk to them, I'd like to know who I told to call them.

I did a search on the forum, and I found your original post on this subject, which
shows that mmolnar might have more answers for you than I do. Here's
