Brush Crusher

Jim, I am about five miles from the lake. I fought that fire...it was about 28,500 acres in all. Started from a controlled burn (that wasn't very controlled, heh?) on a ranch in Archer County. Burned all the way from US281 to US287. We just fought house and gras fires at the lake. 14 homes lost. Here's some pix I took:

You know, if I had it to do it again, I'd go with a hydraulic remote and a bucket grapple. But that's just my opinion, based on my experiences with the BC-4000. It lacks some things that should have been designed in: greaseable pins instead of having zerks just on the implement; the bolt to take up the slop on the loader arm is worthless (1/2" carriage bolt, and the nut was welded on the outside of the brace - under a load, the weld broke); and one of the lower teeth has bent already. Since I am not afraid to modify it to meet my needs, it'll continue to be put to work.

Thanks for the feedback, I was kind of leaning that way so will probably pass on the brush crusher grapple.

Thanks,
Al

I agree. I've had mine about three days now. I'm definitely not completely liking this thing. The pin at the bottom of each side is all that is holding it down against the loader arm. The right side of each connection raises up off of the attachment. Definitely wish I could return this thing. Great concept and can lift alot but not very efficient with the couple of things I've found.
