changing front tire width on rtv

When yal replace your rtv tires are you going back with the same width front and back like they come from factory or going to 8" wide on the front?

26x11x12 BajaCross tires work well on 4 corners of a 900...no rub issues. After two months of serious abusive use along river bottoms I've heard one rub with wheel turned to lock on a hard hit, once...and it was real faint - may not even been a rub. Anyway, best tires I've ever ran on an RTV, and it's nice to be able to rotate, as well has have a common spare that works on all corners. 8 ply, and while some say you lose a little torque, I have not noticed at all. In fact, all I've noticed is that on GPS I've gained about 3 MPH on the top. No lift, either...just HD springs. Not cheap, but this is the longest I've EVER gone without plugging a tire! More than you asked for, but just thought I'd offer.

I have 26" rears, 9" front and 11" rears blackwater evolutions on my 2011 RTV 900 no rubbing at all.The nine looks a bit narrow but at time of purchase, that was the only size option for what I wanted. I used 12"rear and 10"front on my '05.(in26)
The fellow at All terrain online should be able to help you with choosing though. collie

11-12's .... Rear
9-12's .... Front

1 1/8" LUGS

( Quote from Mister) If I was going to replace. Would replace with the same all around for rotation reasons.

And I would NOT get 27" tires. 26" Max for me. But I see now that the new RTV's has much more wheel wells that the older models. ( Un-Quote )

I've got 27x10x12 Swamplites (which were previously on my ATV) all the way around mine and it seems to do fine. I don't know the difference between those and the the factory size though, pending the factory tires were busted and I put the Swamplites on as soon as I got my 2005 900 RTV.

I think Mr. Mister is right on the money. Rotation with same size or non directional tread pattern is smart thinking. :)

I believe im running the same width on front and backs. It all depends on your situation. For me i find in the snow we get thinner is better. For loose sand and mud wider is better.
It all depends on what you deal with for the most part i guess.
