Compare old rtvs to new rtvs

Thinking of buy a new 1100c and trade in my old 900. I like the looks of the new rtvs and there are a lot of changes on them. The thing is the rtv still a work horse like the old rtvs are? The old rtvs to me are a amazing machine. I pull big logs with it, hail 15 bales of hay on the back, move hay wagons and much more. Can the new rtvs do the same? It's like the old Rangers were good workers but the new ranger xps aren't workers at all pleasure utv. I hope kubota didn't go down the same road.

I am still up in the air...

some days I really wish I had that old 900 back... reliable, sturdy, never a problem. But I really like the luxury items on the new x 1100c, heat, and all that stuff! I don't like the problems I've had with power and leaking coolant. Lots of issues with the x series.

The problems your having is it because the x series are new and the bugs aren't all fixed, or is it problems with just your machine? I know we bought a ranger xp there first year and had major problems something with the engine and need replaced dealer worked with us to get a 900 love it. Maybe I'll what a few more years before I get a x series.

some of the problems that I've had (leaking coolant) have been problems discussed on these chats. The power issue is also common. Maybe wait a while and keep that 900. :D

The biggest thing that keeps me from "upgrading" to a new 1100X is the payments. Lot to be said for a good work horse that's paid for.

Totally agree with that. The dealer I deal with just told me he got a 2012 1100 in looked at it and might just jump on it 150 hr it's like a new one almost. They are an expensive machine but I could live with out it. Live on a farm use it for a lot of stuff the heated cab be really nice.

I have a 2012 RTV 1100 and, other than a fuel gauge that reads empty when half full, has not given me any negative issues. Plenty of power and as I've said before, gets 29 mph on the level. Having said that, there are 2 quarks that I really think is the result of poor Kubota engineering design. 1) The shifting is troublesome (at times) going from L-M-H-R and 2) sometimes shifting from 2WD-4WD. The 1100 is a machine that does the work I need it to do (including snow plowing). And with the cab w/ac and heater, makes for a nice ride for me and the grandkids.

I bought a 2014 rtvx1100c back in the late fall. It is now due the 50 hr service but I have had no problems at all. It has taken some getting used to the shift procedure (apply brakes maybe give it a little accelerator pedal to nudge into gear) and to the engine braking when letting off of the accelerator pedal. It is not a speed demon by any means with a top speed of 25-26 mph. But the machine is a real work horse. Have not had leak issues of any kind or bogging down unless going up a steep hill then just back off of accelerator pedal till rpms go back up and keep on going. Have had no bogging of motor in low range at all. We have a lot of steep ground, mud, woods ect on the place and the machine seems to take on all challenges with ease. As for the dump bed,I have had mine probably over loaded with dirt and rocks with no twisting of the bed. I really like the independent rear suspension on the x model for it is a much smoother ride. Hope this will be helpful on your decision you are facing. IMG_0124.jpg
