Pepr, This is a little information on how to test the temperature sensor out of my manual.
.....
1. disconnect the lead from coolant temperature sensor after turning key off.
2. Turn the key on and measure voltage with a voltmeter across the lead terminal and the chassis.
If the voltage differs from the battery voltage, the wiring harness, fuse or coolant temperature gauge is faulty.
Sensor Continuity
1. measure the resistances with an ohmmeter across the sensor terminal and the chassis.
2. If the reference value is not indicated, then the sensor is faulty.
16.1^ at 240 F
27.4^ at 212 F
51.9^ at 176 F
153.9^ at 122F I used the ^ for the ohms sign.
There is a test for the gauge as well if needed. bordercollie
