cv shaft failure

A post by "Charles" on the Utility vehicle and ATV's Forum (this website) discusses front CV shaft failure due to his RTV not having front wheel turn limit stops on the A-frames. Any comments from this forum? My May 2005 RTV900R does not appear to have stops.

Order some via your local dealer...they are easy to install. They utilize existing holes on the lower a-arms.
Does the 2006 & 2007 models have the turn limit stops ?
It depends on the production date for the 2006 units, and all 2007 units have them.

OK,

Here's some info.

The kit required is K7571-91750.

As noted, it takes just a couple minutes to install.

Price is about $55.

It appears that all RTV's with Serial # greater than 66026 have them. If your SN is 10001-66026 you probably don't have them.

They are installed on the back of the " A " arm on bottom >>>>

These were installed on the production line at factory. My unit was built at the end of 2006 >>>>

Hope this help *******

Yep, those are the stoppers and the zinc plated bolts go through the stopper & a-arm, which thread into a separate plate on the inside of the a-arms. It's the same threaded plate used for the front CV-boot guards.

Two Gun, thanks for the photos. Got my parts in today and installed the left side. Got to the right side and discovered the package had another left stop in a pouch marked right stop. Oh well, back to the dealer 50 miles away. Sure seems a design fault such as this warrants at least Kubotaproviding the parts free. I get the feeling Kubota saw me coming a long way off to charge $57.28 for four small pieces of flat barand four quarter inch cap screws.Kubota, if you are reading this, it sure would not hurt my feelings to receive a refund check.
Your take it better than I *** At the least, your dealer should give you someting for all the trouble you had to go threw. The fuel, time, and trouble, not to mention the mental b/s this stuff puts a man threw. If they had to order another set, I would make them drop ship it to my location, instead of making that trip again. It can be in your hands by the time it can be in his. Whatever credit / or items he gives you to make things better, you can bet he will get his money back threw Kubota. As we all know, mistakes do happen, but it's up to them to make it right. That's just good business !!! If he wants to keep your business, I believe he will work with you !!!

I wonder if Kubota is aware that some of these "corrective modifications" on newer models may translate into "safetyissues" on older models? When the front yoke rattle and gas cap leakage issues weren't handled as a public recall it made me wonder if Kubota would tell us of other problems like the lack of the stops?
