Diesel Fuel Additive

I know this has been addressed before but my RTV sits for long periods with out use. Sometimes 6-7 weeks. I keep the tank full but I am looking for a good diesel fuel additive that contains a diesel fuel stabilizer.
What do you other owners do to keep it all running smooth....Thanks in advance...Tonasket

HI THERE!

I forgot the name of what we use but it comes in a white bottle and you can get it at Walmart and Tractor Supply to name a few! The same company also makes a cetane booster that usually sits next to the white bottles and it is in a dark grey colored bottle. If you get the 96 oz size that is enough to treat 300 gallons but I usually add a bit more to be sure it's effective being the climate we're exposed to. I think it's under $16.00 the last time I got some. It also comes in quart sized bottles. It is an anti-gel and also cleans injectors. I use it too in my F-250 diesel truck.

I know what BovsRTV is talking about and I think it's called "Power Service".

Personally, I use Sta-Bil.

Either/both work well.

I didn't realize you can use Sta-bil in diesels... Never really looked! I use that in my gas engines, will have to check that out!

Thanks for the info.... Sta-bil says that the gas version is not strong enough for diesel but I will look for the other in WalMart....Good to see what other guys are doing...

HI, just my 2 cents worth, i've been using STANADYNE brand diesel fuel treatments for years. I was told by a reputable diesel injection service mechanic that this is the stuff to use. I've been using both the PERFORMANCE FORMULA and the LUBRICITY FORMULA together in my 2006 rtv with no problems, sometimes i don't run it for weeks at a time and i' ve had no problems with it at all. It's a little expensive but a little goes a long way, and it's one of the least expensive things i've done to the rtv anyway. jdh1
