EZ CHAIR For the Deer

Nothing like that up here. Deer live in the evergreen forests. No agricultural program for Witetails. Huddle up in "deer yards" in the winter snow which can reach 3-5 feet accumilated.

Only agricultural program here, is I have taken a old cotton fields, planted it with wheat & oats, harvest it with combines, take all crop to silos, storage for winter to put in auto-matic deer feeders for them.... I have to work it, plant it , harvest it, AND FINANCE THIS OPERATION. **** No government money or government programs here.... Only thing the state does for me is , they giveme theO.K. to killall the deer I want or need to keep everything right,no limit on my place at all, or we will get over populated with the whitetail deer. We do alot for our deer here...... Plus also, they have all the forest, woods, and swamps to live & feed in also. I use the feeders to keep 'em close for hunting purposes. And also, I will add some nutrients and suppliment into their feed, to make 'em healthy , big , and strong >>>> That's my program !!!

Great program you got. Can deer meat be sold in your State? It's not allowed in Mine. What is the number of your herd? Did I hear you say you hunt Boar? Do you use hounds? Whats the prefered firearm? Is there a season?

EZ,

I think so !I love this program I've got going >>>> Selling deer meat, No, no wild meat can be sold in the state of Louisiana either !But do donate it tochurchs, needy folks, friends, children homes, and the list goes on & on ~~~Number in herd, heck, I don't know, way to many, I cannot kill enough of these things. These are wild whitetail deer onour farms and plantations, 6632 acres. They are NOT fenced in stock, hope I didn't give you the wrong impression. They are free ... But, the way I have it set up, it attracts more & more every year, along with the bo-koo of yearlings dropped every year. And the ones that are there, don't leave........... only in the back of the RTV & Rubicons. [:)]

Yes, hunt the hell out of hogs, the number is growing very, very fast... I can hunt them all year round !!!!They now, are really a problem, seems like the more we take out, the more shows up. Don't need hounds, use to years ago, but now, no ~~~~

Firearms >>> For the Deer, Use a .264 Winchester Magnum, .300 Winchester Magnum, & .338 Winchester Magnum >>>>>>>>> For the hogs >>>>>> If I hunt on foot, walking 'em down, I use a automatic rifle, .223 ColtH-Bar, and sometimes, other smaller caliber autos >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> But, when I take a stand, I can get really serious with them long shots, 22-250 Remington, 204 Ruger, .308 Winchester, all bull-barrel sniper weapons, with some long range scopes..... Now that's some fun shootin' !!! And then there is the sweethearts, the .257 & 240 Weatherby Rifles. Smooth Shooters !!!!

I had terrible spotlighting problems a couple of years back. I caught some of them (scary) but the local elected judge ignored the prosecuting attorney and game commission andjust slapped them on the wrist. Very disappointing for all the risk I took.

Every year I go to the state capitol and testify on behalf of stronger anti-poaching bills and stronger landowner bills. <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Missouri has a "permissive" wildlife code which means it states what you can do. Most states have a "restrictive" code that states what you can't do. Anyway it's a tough sell to knucklehead lawmakers who havebackwards constituents who are threatened by tougher laws. One of the congressmen told me he had guys who would call him everyday trying to get their fishing and hunting licenses back. He felt sorry for them...

If a little does a little good, a lotta will do a lotta good ... Placement is Everything !!! Agreed !

Years ago, had atwo pouchers. But, I took care of it myself,. My way !!!! They will NEVERmake that move again, or do that EVER again on my property or anybody elses !!!

Don't let my Kindness, Be any sign of Weakness *** For I have never had a reverse gear in my body !!!

Fines wouldn't put back what they took out. And the only thing a fine would have done, is put money in the general funds !!! Louisiana law states that now, AS of 1989, a landowner does not have to have a posted signs or five strand barb-wire fence around his property, to make things legally posted. Louisiana Law now states that if it is not yours , and you do not have written permission on person. You are tresspassing , PERIOD . I understand about the " goodie" judges. And I think when it comes to matters like this, I leave the enforcement out of it. I'll tend to my own, my way !!! But, folks around here know the way we are about our deer / property. They stay off . Now, I do have a few signs out on certain corners of the plantation. For you have folks who are not from here, will just go right threw a gate, and run out in your pecan orcards, or corn fields and think it free grazing. That's bull crap.... Sign simply states >>> NO WARNING SHOTS *** Signed: Two Guns !!!

I am a firm believer, no matter what part of the country pouchers are from. Take their gun, hunting & fishing rights from them. No matter how " light " the charge is .Make examples out of them. Seeing is Believeing !!! That will hurt them more than any damn fine. Fines don't hurt them caliber of people.

I have worked to hard, andlong , spent money that would blow peoples minds .... ongetting what I have, and taking care of my deer. I have much pride in what I've built up. And I would be damned, if I would let a poucherjust get slapped .... I get mad thinking about it !!

Good Two Guns and Doggman, I am glad to hear that there are still some of ya'll good folks left. It seems like there are more and more abusers of what is right. I caught 2 knotheads dove hunting in our cotton fields several years ago. next to a corn field. They had parked in the cow pasture under a tree and even left the gate open.. if the cows had gotten in that cotton!!and they were within 50 ' of the gate when I found this.!In another case , teenagers from the encroaching subdivisions did doughnuts all over our neighbors cornfield they spend hrs doing this until... they went up to the windshield in a ditch of muddy water!! What is sad is that so many see nothing wrong with this behavior. Like when my nephew wrote a paper in high school about raising the penalty for headlighting . A girl said" how can you shoot them if you can't see them" ? She saw nothing wrong with this!Keep up the good work guys because folks like me respect you for it. Bordercollie[&][&]

Wow! Aren't States different. In Maine, unless land is posted "No Hunting" you may hunt on that land. Wild life is the property of the State. Poachers are hunters that kill game out of season or outside the daylight hunting hours. (Is this the same inyour State, Two Guns or is it simply tresspass makes you a poacher?)They are not tolerated, they lose all rights to hunt and fish, period. They also loose their firearm. Hunters and land owners have there own "justice" like Two Guns. Two Guns, you will like this, we had a police officer caught. He lost all hunting and fishing rights and was fired from work and is not allowed to be a officer again. Need to say something about RTVs. Atvs must get written permission to be on any land but your own. I know that missuse of land caused the law. But for us that obey the laws and respect the law, it is to restricting. Most law abiding riders at one time or another have been on a piece of land (knowingly or not)without "My Note From The Teacher". If you do a day ride, how many notes would you have in your pocket? My note doesn't cover you. When do you round up your notes? Thank God, the ATV clubs came up with the "Mega Note". If you are a club member, the club has asked permission for its members from the landowners. No matter were you are in the WORLD. "ITS THE FEW THAT SPOIL IT FOR THE MANY". Two Guns, you are mellowing in your old age. A poacher season would take care of everything. Camo with small "p" for regular season. Orange and large"P" for bow and musket. No bounty though, that wouln't be sporting.

"For the Deer, Use a .264 Winchester Magnum, .300 Winchester Magnum, & .338 Winchester Magnum"
Isn't that a little overkill? with a .338 WinMag, what's left of the deer?

Around here, we don't have many problems with poachers, spot-lighters or tresspassers anymore...

Yes, there is ahuge difference in state game laws. A lot of the western states treat poaching as a serious crime. They'll seize everything that was used in the incident starting with the vehicle. That really puts some teeth into the law.

In our county the local sheriff was caught in a federal deer dogging sting. It was federal because some of the activity was on National Forest land. The defendants were tried in federal court, bypassing the idiot local judge. That was 15 years ago and the sheriff is still in office. However, deer dogging has decreased to almost nothing.

We have to post our land with signs or purple boundary paintto establish it as off limits.

The .338 magnum , Nope, No over kill, it's a clean kill >>>> Everything is left of the deer, but the heart, and some connecting parts >>>> But it does blow feathers out the other side, >>> gives a man something he can see threw >>>> [*-)]
Everything is left of the deer, but the heart, and some connecting parts >>>>
One of my business partners also has a deer processing plant (about 3 doors down from my house). I know what a .300 and .338 Win Mag do to deer. When you say the heart and some connecting parts are gone, you're really saying there's a hole you can throw a football through.

I have an 80 acre farm 2 miles down from the house, just a few of us inmy family hunt on, the land around mine is all leased hunted. I have the property lines posted like crazy, haven't had much problems with T.P's, the leased land is made up of roughly a thousand acres or so, and mine is in the middle. Got the word out that if a vehicle is found on my property, and hunters can't be found or not, I take the tire pressure out of the tires and they do some walking, if they try it again and the vehicle is the same and that warning wasn't taken, then next they're buying new tires and walking, if you know what I mean, we are not asking questions, there are plenty of signage, trespassing is trespassing. Sounds harsh, but think the rumor has been around and they all know our property.
