Free Video Calling Service

Some of you may already know about this but I just found out recently. You can hook up a Video Camera to your computer and get free video calling from a sevice called Skype. My grand daughter told me about it so I could talk to her and the great grandson and at the same time see them. I thought that some of my friends on here might like to know about the srevice.

It is easy just download the free software and plug your camera in to the computer. You have to have a high speed internet connection. I ordered my camera from costco on line for $59.00 with free express shipping. You can get cameras cheaper but this Microsoft wide angle camera is a dandy with great picture and sound.

Would be nice to talk to some of you andat the same time be able to see you or maybe even live videos of an RTV part.

Yeah--Skype is fantastic. I spent an hour this morning talking with a friend in Kiev, Ukraine, using the video link. And it is free, computer to computer. It is also possible to get Skype-Out service, a pay-as-you go option that allows you to call regular phones from your computer. It is not free, but it is very cheap. I pay $2 per month for unlimited calling to any phone number in Canada or the USA. Living off-grid as we do, we do not have any kind of landlines coming into our home. So Skype is our main way of staying connected by phone with our family and friends around the world.

I have had Skype for over a year now to talk to my Niece and Grandniece in Oregon.......It is a great tool..........It is like sitting in the person you are talking to living room...............I have a microsoft 9000 camera......
