fuel filter change

Im finding im having to replace mine about every 9 months but I do run a lot of fuel through mine and the fuel is double filtered.
Im heading to the auto parts store tomorrow to match up filters and buy new hose to replace and make it longer so I can position the filter in a more use friendly area on the machine.

Yep, they seem to put in on where one has to have three arms and the size of a tadpole
to change it.

We change ours everytime engine oil is changed >>>>

Yep like TWO GUNS we change ours with each oil change. We use a Napa 3002 filter. It's a clear plastic filter, but so far they have held up for us.
 
After installing one of these before the regular filter, I haven't had any trouble with trash making it to, much less past, the filter. I need to clean & line the tank on my Mule, but until I get the time & money, this is working great.
You can see, and clean out, any trash -and water- before it becomes a problem to the system.
 
Well Picked up filter and 4 feet of fuel line.Took off old filter and when it was all said and done I put the new filter on and didnt add any length to the line.
There was just no way without making a 3 foot loop to add it in and I didnt want to snag the line in the woods some place.
Ill just fight the lack of space as usual
 
Agree fuel filter location a PITA at best. Need to find a workable location before i change it again. Wish it was like my B7800 and may add the spinoff type to ease changes.

Myself, have thought about doing the same of what I seen a few years ago.
Meet a new RTV Owner at the dealership I purchased ours from, he purchased a spin-on filter kit that goes on a Kubota tractor, and put a
water seperator in that line also, before it ever got to the fuel pump. It was amazing.
Wish I have taken pictures of the machine before it left the dealership.
All this was done before he ever left the shop with it. Dealer installed the new filter systems.

When changing mine, I use hemostats ( larger locking surgical tool), to clamp the line where no fuel will escape. Change filter and release. Make much easier & faster filter exchange.
 
If I remember correct, it was inside the frame, in the area behind where the air intake tube goes in, or same area on the other side. Had a plate bolted up to install the mounting bolts of the filter systems .....

It was sharp !!!!
 
When changing the fuel filter,a little extra hand room can be had by temporally removing the plate near the air filter. It has a couple of bolts holding it on. It makes changing the fuel filter a little easier. I change once or twice a year and avg 600 hrs a year.Vintovka, I like the looks of that filter you chose. The one seen was a small spin on filter. Everything was metal / Iron.

And of course, it cost a little more ....

Besides not running, what are the symptoms of needing to change out the filter???.....I tend to defer some of the maintenance until "needed"...............this is one of those items.....thanks........God bless......Dennis
 
Hi Dennis, I noticed mine sort of faltering or hesitating while driving almost like when a diesel runs out of fuel. Are you having problems? bordercollie
 
No, no problem just tucking the info away for diagnosing for if and when..........lolol.........currently am sitting in a campground in Cortez, Colorado. Two weeks into a I dont know when I will get home, get the heck out of dodge trip.........
