fully hydraulic curtis plow

Looks nice Brian. I am sure your glad you did it. Yep the hardest part of the whole thing is the switch for the selector valve.

If I ever do this again I would mount the unit under the hood and have 4 quick connects in the grill so the unit would be nicely protected and electrical connections would also have a safe sheltered home.

We just had 20 inches of snow, that's 50 cm here in Canada, and I had removed the rubber flap from the top of my blade. What a difference. It works better without the flap. I had noticed before that once you get a load in front it exerted pressure upward and was lifting the blade. It now works much better with nothing at all on the top and the snow seems to roll adhead of the plow with very little coming back over the blade. It only takes a few minutes to uninstall. Give it a try.

No problem buddy thats what its all about. I am glad it worked out well for you. I'm sure you will think that its awesome when you start using it, and if your like me and you have to back up alot that hydraulic cylinder will save you a ton of time. And also Dig I did one other upgrade thats right up your alley. I cut and welded 3/16" plate steel and installed it were the old bracket was that lifted the blade this let me get two more inches of lift because i did not like the plow hitting the ground when it was turnrd fully to one side. I will post pictures if your interested.

Would love to see the pics. Another mod I need to make. I still need to post pics of my giant shoes. Was going to wait till I actually move some snow so I can say if the mod was a success. Unfortunatly, the snowfall in Missouri can be a lot or nothing. So far this year... nothing.

Try removing the rubber flap/steel bar/bolts&nuts from the top of the plow. I did and was impressed at how well it still worked, snow curls out in front of the plow. The lighter load might benefit your lift unit. Then I tried putting it, the rubber flap etc., on backwards but because I don't use any shoes it now drags too much so I'm going back to just no rubber flap at all. I bent my shoes in the first 1/2 hour of testing the plow and have not used them since. And the flap tended to lift my blade when snow packed under it, now the snow curls out front. My old Moose plow was much better than this Curtis shit.
