Glass Windshield on 900

Well, Santa was really nice to me this year! My son bought me a Kubota glass windshield for the 900! We put it on the other day and drove around for a bit, this really makes a huge difference in the bush and the cold!

I notice that it mounts on the 900 and extends out a couple of inches past the bars on both sides. I am used to just driving through the brush with no concern for branches, etc. I am thinking it wouldn't take much of a bump to smash the windshield? Any of you guys have some advice? I also think the rubber edge might get hammered up from small branches?

I love the windshield and really don't want to have any mishaps, it is a fantastic gift for me since I drive around cutting firewood in the rain and snow.

The Glass windshield is GLASS ....

So we know it will break, but it's tuffer than you think. It will break. Trust me, I know.

I don't think bumps will break it. It would take one hell of a BIG BUMP.
Limbs have hit ours, and no problem. But I'm not hauling butt threw the woods either.

Just enjoy the machine, use common sense, you will be fine.

If you haul your RTV, haul it BACKWARDS on your trailer.

I have the full Curtis cab on mine
The Kubota glass windshield comes as part of the Curtis cab enclosure whose frame work for the doors extend about 3 in out from the ROPS on each side thus your windshield without the enclosure extends as you describe. The windshield fits flush with the Curtis frame.

LOTS of us have the glass windshield and over the years really can't remember folks talking about breaking it and taking preventive measures to keep it from happening again......I go in the woods LOTS and I guess the trick for me, like Two Guns above, is that I go kinda slow through the brush. No, I dont creep along and when I see a solid branch that isn't gonna bend I stop and do something about it....Mainly though, I just let them bend around, rub against the trim on the edge and then spring back........God bless.....Dennis

I have the Glass window and it seems very robust, it has taken some pretty good size branches. Hope yours works out for ya.

W/S questions

I have a 2005 w/ oem glass w/s. No issues w/ glass breakage. However, I did have both locks stress crack. Replaced under warranty. Since then I always leave the w/s unlocked when the RTV900 is parked or not in use.
