GoLight and a couple other accessories

I've had some accessories sitting on a shelf for quite awhile waiting to be installed. Well, the RTV was due for a service so I took the time to finally put them on.

Here's the GoLight Stryker and amber strobe lights installed to the roof.

Here's the wired remote for the GoLight. I was going to put between the roof and ceiling panels but the space just isn't there...

The power for the strobes is the top right switch (labeled SL) on the upper bank of switches.

Note the 2 brass bolts going vertically just above the bank of switches. Between the roof and ceiling panels and facing outward (to the left as pictured) is a bank of 3 12v power outlets (cigarette lighter type). I already had the one in the ceiling panel (above the mirror) which is where I plug in a hand-held spotlight.

And I finally got the Amsteel rope installed on the winch.

Used it last weekend for pulling down a tree. No problems. It's also 100-fold easier to handle than cable. Yea, I know (before you mention it...), I need to get that roller fairlead out and a Hawse in.

The hand-throttle just arrived at the dealer so I'll pick that up later today and install tonight or tomorrow.

Oops, forgot to ask.

Jamie, Andrew or anyone else that has the Stryker. What's the range on the wireless remote?

BTW - Dang, that thing is bright... I reached out about 300 yards (as long as a shot as I have around the house) and that thing was ready to shine even farther.

Looks like you got things going your way ~~~~ Happy you got 'er installed.</P>

Don't remember exactly the distance of the wireless remote., but it is a good ways >>>></P>

After dark, in the swamps, fields & woods, I usally just drive around with the wireless in my hand, have it set on the " Rabbit " mode ~~ And will move so much faster than the one on the heads-up panel ... And love that memory button, it's great !!!! Have the memory set in center / center position, that way, when finished spottin' around, just hit the memory button, goes back to the same position before I put it in the sleep mode !!! That light is handy as a pocket on a shirt !!!!!</P>

</P>

See you got snow ~~~~ </P>

Of course. You mean you don't have one??? It's empty since at the time its contents were strapped to my hip.

Brian, I've had the remote 50 feet or so from the unit and it worked fine at that distance. Nice job on the install.</P>

Thanks Andrew.

The winch remote works from several hundred feet. Just wondering if I can get that far with the light. I'd try it but I can't even see that far through the snowflakes so I wouldn't expect a remote to get through it...

It looks great Brian</P>

That golight sounds really cool. I haven't found a reason for me to justify buying one [:'(] [:)]</P>

Ummm, why do you nead a reason or justification? I know I didn't have a reason. Heck, I had to go buy another strobe light just to make it balanced. Before the GoLight, the amber strobe was in the middle of the roof. Once I put the GoLight in the middle, I had to install 2 strobes so it was balanced...

How's this for a reason....one of my friends is an ex-Supreme Court Justice here in Texas who is up there in years. He recently told me that he had purchased a Beretta Storm 9mm Carbine. I asked him why he needed a carbine and he told me...."I didn't have one!"</P>

It's people like him who make this country great ;-)</P>

Andrew</P>

Ok guys...sorry I was not thinking[:)] </P>

I am a little tight on money .. and need to buy a winch, front rack, and tires first.</P>

Brian the second strobe... I understand that... as you say it is needed just for balance. [:)]</P>

Andrew,</P>

Your friend, is a very smart man !!! Does he own a RTV yet ? That answerwould classify if he don't !!!</P>

Wouldgive him something to carry that carbine with ~~~~ [:O]</P>

BC, I bet the good folks down in Stephensville Texas could see that light!

Where did you get the liner for the plastic roof, did you make it yourself? What is the material? Thanks.

My friends joke that I can land planes with my RTV. I've added 11 or 12 lights. Add the 4 lights that came with it, when all are fired up, it looks like a spaceship from a distance.

I made it myself.
Here's the thread that says what I used to make it as well as how I installed.

Thanks for the compliment Jamie.

BTW, check with our forum host (Messicks) on the front rack. Their price either matched or beat the competition.

I am looking to buy a new Warn RT40 or Ramsey 5000 for my 900 and want Amsteel rope, .They do not come with Amsteel rope installed.</P>

If I unspool the newwire and put on Amsteel rope.Is theremoved new wire just a rolly polly birdnestpile of junk or can it be used as additional cable?</P>

Hope this makes sense.</P>

I appreciate all the help everyone shares.</P>

It should be reusable. Mine coiled into a nice roll that I put on a shelf and I'll pass on to the first friend I see with a frayed cable on their winch.
