hand throttle

I forgot to ask,,,,with the hand throttle kit,,,can you set the throttle,,then push the pedal past it to full throttle and release it back to the hand throttle setting,,,without changing the hand throttle?

I assume you can,,but better ask.

Worth every penny!!

So I bought the hand throttle kit a week ago, wanted to use it a bit before making any observations. All I can say is its worth every penny. Works great, keeps the rpms up alternator charging good when using plow, lights and heater. The power band definitely feels better set at about half throttle. Seems to shift a little better as well, also keeps the hydronic heater putting heat out. All we need is snow for some good ole seat time.

Sounds like you will/are getting your request for snow..A foot of snow is forcast for my locale..have fun:wink:

I installed the new throttle cable today. They do not make one for the 1100,,,so i got the 900 cable. It was too short to put back the way it came out,,and the handle end was to long. The cable hit the back of the cab. It would have to be bent 90 deg to be routed,,so I had to drill a hole in the cab and run it out over the radiator. That worked out since it was too short anyway,,and I needed to go a more direct route then the original cable.

Works good! Wonder why it was shorter? Are 900's smaller? I guess it is a different motor,,maybe throttle is in a different place on the engine.

Mark - It separates the engine RPM's from the foot pedal.

Basically, you pull the hand throttle to the desired RPM's and the engine uses that as its minimum. Depressing the pedal to a higher RPM range will override it and increase it. You can also tweak the RPM setting by turning the hand throttle knob.
The times I use it are mainly when I know I'm going to be doing something like climbing a steep hill or pulling a heavy load at very low speeds where I know I'm not going to want to start from idle.

I believe they may have been (and still are?) installed from the factory on the Turf model as that model was equipped to run hydraulic tools.

OK can you explain to me what exacxtly the kit does and its advantages???
I want it for controlling rpms more like my tractor sometimes. My tractors,,, i set the rpm, then use the pedal to move. I like it better for starting out a big load in a higher gear. It puts more pressure to the wheels. I can spin my wheels in 4x4 when the rpms are raised before i hit the "go pedal" MUCH more power on takeoff. Shifts like normal.

When I am just driving around, i go back to "normal" on the hand throttle.

The original 1100 hand throttle has only 2 settings,,,with this one I can set the rpm's anywhere I want them.

The other thing,,if I drive a long way,,,setting the rpm up high with the hand throttle seems to take some of the pressure away from my foot, needed to hold the "pedal to the metal"
