Has anyone used this winch?

Re: Has antone used this winch?

I'm not familiar with the Deco brand.

I just did a google search but not coming up with much info on details nor any reviews.
I did see that Target has the same one for the same price. Not sure, but I believe Mrs. Zoom told me that Target's return policy isn't very good (OK, it sucks...) but at least you can see it in person.

This site has the same winch for $99

Re: Has antone used this winch?

Thanks bczoom I just ordered from the site you found for $99 I have 30 days to return if it does not fit or work on the RTV. Like Two Guns says winches are only starter motors and no more than I will use it I think it work just fine.

Hey Leon,

We would appreciate a review once you get it. Sorry I couldn't give more info.

Re: Has antone used this winch?

Hi Leon, The trick of buying any of the China winches is to buy them from a place were you think you could return them without to much hassle. The trouble with the China stuff is it breaks and there are no replacement parts. Which means after the store won't take it back, you buy the next one. Nothing is worst than being stuck and having that little devil not work. I would search out a used Warn, Ramsey, Milemaker, or Superwinch before I bought a China Doll. You can get parts for those winches. If you want Chinese and don't have a store that knows you, then see the Chinese tool guy at the flee market, should be able to get a 3000lb No-Name for $50 to $75 in the box. Good Luck

Re: Has antone used this winch?

The complete story goes like this. My wife of 47 years threw a fit when I bought my L-2800 Kubota and again when I bought my RTV900. When I stated I was going to buy a reciever hitch, rear view mirror and winch for RTVsame story, I had spent enough money on this thing.

Since I only need the winch to drag tree limbs and brush up the step hills on my Montana summer home I think this onewill do what I need done. When you have a home in the Montana mountains you have to remove ladder fuel from around the trees to keep the forest fires at bay.If it fails I will dig a hole with my L-2800 and give it a final resting place.

At 68 years old my RTV will probablynot be in places where I need to drag it out.

Purchased it from Heartland America on line not sure about customer service but they have a 1 year warranty.

Sounds like you're like me. It's easier to ask for forgiveness than it is for permission.
