Hauling

Yep, great pics!

Should have thought of it earlier... Have you considered a hand throttle? It's a relatively inexpensive and easy to install accessory that allows you to set the engine minimum RPM's without using the pedal. I have hills and terrain that I don't want to approach (to go up) without having the RPM's up more then what's needed at the pedal. I set the hand throttle up where I want it then I use the pedal for speed only.

Thank you bczoom, I have seen that post before and did not think of that. I wish I had tried it. I think any thing over 7,000 feet will bother performance.
My wife and I have been going to this place ever since we were married. 47+ years ago. about 30 years ago we purchased it and never regreted the decision. We try to go out 3 or 4 times a year. My wife will not let me go by my self any more, afarid that something may happen. I under stand, and that is OK. Cell phones do not work up there. If there are probloms you are 30 minites from cell phone reception, and another 30 minites from any town. It cost alot more for fule to get there than it cost to stay. Just need to take food. Cabin is at 9,700 feet so you can only get there from June to early November . I will enclose a picture taken on April 4 2008 when one of my sons and I snowmobiled in. There is 6 feet of snow still in the front yard. It has setteled enough that you can walk on top of it most of the time if you stay in the sun.

Thank You for the kind comments. It is a beautiful place any time of the year.
I will enclose a couple more pictures. first one shows the wood shed, the second shows diging out the chimney. With all heating and cooking with wood, they do not draw very well covered in snow. When we go in after it has been this cold the cabin takes about 24 hours to really warm up. The fire place feeles like a campfire. Your front is hot and your back is cold.

I almost forgot. BE SURE AND VOTE TOMORROW.
Wish we had some one to vote for that grew up in the country, had life hard at times, and had some of the values that the people on this form have.
