High mount air filter v.s. higher intake for the OEM filter

I don't particularly like having the large cannister mounted at the roof line. Why not just raise the intake opening to the roof line by a length of PVC pipe and stay with the OEM filter? What are your comments/suggestions?

I don't see where the PVC would not work ~~~~~ I thought about doing the same thing, but went ahead with the OEM Kubota high mount, and love it. Kubota's kit installs perfect, and don't get in the way & also, don't have to worry about the water thing at all . I just checked my filters yesterday, and it's just as clean as the day I installed it. I like the air-box high like that >>>> My idea where you are talking about doing the pvc, I was thinking more on the terms of a flex big hose, like the one coming out of the intake of the engine >>>>>>>>> [Y]

Pvc works just fine. I did mine a couple of years ago with no problems. I used 11/2 tubing with radiator clamps. I them painted the pvc kubota gray.
