Hours see high...?

Hello all!

I just purchased this RTV 1100c in March of 2025 brand new. I just noticed the hours are showing 62.5!!!! This can not be true. I use it to feed my deer & other animals which takes about 15 minutes every other day. Then I will use it to pick up sticks & such which may be 1/2 hour.

My lawn tractor at home has 61 hours and it was purchased in 2018. It takes me 45 minutes to cut my grass once per week most of the time. My tractor has 110 hours and it was purchased March of 2022 with brush hogging for 3 hours every two weeks along with road grading & such.

I was wondering if something could keep the hours counting while it sits..? I do have an electronic broadcaster to spread corn and I do leave it plugged into the cig lighter.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

If the key is turned onto accessories, it's likely running the meter up . Some cig lighter plugs only work if the key is on accessory.

Ever since I bought mine 3 years ago, I noticed the same thing. The only time the key is on is if I am driving it. I know I have not used it the hours it says I do.
 
I think it depends on the year. Older models seem to only to click hours when running. Newer ones would count when turned, it looks like it depends on meter type and year.

Thanks for all the help. I have a sneaky suspicion that Bordercollie may be correct. I always left the plug in the cig lighter and never remembered it being lit up. Once I noticed it still on, I unplugged it.....not thinking to check the key to make sure it was all the way off.

Thinking about it, you turn the key one click to the right (accessory) then a little more for the glow plugs, then one more time to start it. I may have been inadvertently turning the key to accessory when turning the machine off and not going one more click to the left. This would explain why the plug was not lit up sometimes, but was lit up other times.

I will check it this afternoon after work and report back. First thing I will check is if the key turns one click to the Left to OFF.....then I'll know.

I'm back to square one...lol. I have NOT been leaving it on accessory to cause the hours to be so high. When I turn it to accessory, the radio turns on along with the HVAC fan so there is no way I would walk away thinking the machine was turned off.

I actually timed myself feeding the deer and from start to finish it logged 1/2 hour, which was correct. I am at a loss. I can't believe I have put 63 hours on this thing since mid March.

I'll have to ask the dealer when I take it to be serviced.

How many hours were showing when you took delivery?

My "new" 2016 had 37.x hours on it when I took delivery. Turns out they admitted they had used it at a fair for a week. 160 or 170 or so miles. That was not the worst part, they had filled it with dirty fuel. They made it right.

With 37.x hours at delivery, it did not take very long to get to the 50 hours first service.....

IMHO -- March to now approximately 210 days, used every other day is 105 days, for 1/2 hours per day of use is 52.5 hours, plus 1/2 hour here and there picking up sticks and/or other activities can get to 62.5 hours easily.

I didn't look at the hours when I picked it up, but after using it a couple weeks at my camp I seen 3.7 hours. Next time I happened to look it showed about 5 hours, then 13 hours....I haven't paid any attention to it until recently.

I just used some quick uneducated averaging for the amount of days you say you owned it and the aprox hours you say you put on it in two weeks from the first time you noticed and came up with 63 hours. Waz aprox .26 hours a day. Take in consideration that there may have been hours on it when you purchased and a wide error in estimate? You probably have a perfect functioning hour meter. Next time you do chores record the hour meter and compare to your grandfather clock on the wall.

I am on my way to camp to feed the animals. I will keep track like I did yesterday.

I guess it's working fine.

Unfortunately, we are wrong!!!

There is something wrong with the hour meter. I started out at 63.3 hours today and used my cell phone to time me from start to finish. It took me 17 minutes and 42 seconds to feed the animals. The hour meter on the machine when I parked was at 64.7. So it went from 63.3 to 64.7 for 17 minutes of run time.

I'll call the dealer and schedule an appointment tomorrow. I'll make sure to report back regardless of what they find. I may as well get the initial service done at the same time since winter is coming and I'll be using it for snow blowing.

I will keep everyone posted
