how to remove key switch from rtv900 ?

Hi. I wonder if anyone here can tell me how to remove the key switch from my rtv900 without breaking it. I've got the plug disconnected but I can't see what locks the switch in place on the dash panel.

At this stage I don't have a new one to replace it with but I need to do some tests on the switch.

Hi, The ring right around the key holds it on. You may need some channel locks protected with duct tape to get it to screw off. You will probably need to hold the back side under the dash with your other hand while removing the ring.At least that's how mine is. bordercollie

There's nothing showing to indicate that it is threaded and I was reluctant to try it in case I broke it, but mine looks the same as in your photo. I'll try it later on this morning.
