Idle too high

I am a mechanic, and to me my rtv idles too high. I have an 06 model and I adjusted the pump linkage idle screw. No change whatsoever. When idling, I can move the throttle lever about 1/2" before increase in rpm. The throttle stop screw serves no purpose that I can tell. There has to be a way to lower the rpm. Yes I was on the correct screw, there are three. Since Kubota chose to put a speedometer and not a tachometer, I guess my idle is about 800 to 1000 rpm. Is it possible to lower the idle?

Jiles,

Many of us have decreased the idle.

Tact's post #5814 in this thread gives a pic and description of what we did to lower our idle.

Before I posted this question, I did a search for "idle adjustment". For some reason, I found nothing. I knew I had read somthing about idle adjustment a while back. Now, I don't believe you have a clear understanding of my situation. As stated, I am a mechanic and have adjusted many pumps of various brand tractors. This adjustment doesn't effect the idle on my machine. I think I may have another problem because the machine runs perfectly other then high idle. I would like for someone to do a simple test for me. Raise the bed and bring the engine speed up with the injector pump lever. How far can you move the lever before engine rpm increase?

Have you found the problem yet, I would take a look at mine, and help, but it's out at the farm right now, 22 miles away.

Maybe someone has one sitting at thier house, can run out there and take a look !!!!
