I'm A Cattle "Rancher", Now...

Goat

Member
We've been raising goats for several years, but this morning we brought two necomers onto the farm. One is a 3 month old Hereford/Charolais heifer, the other is a blind 6 month old Angus/Hereford bull.
"Stevie Wonder", as the lady we got him from called him, will end up in the freezer next spring. The heifer is going to be bred next year sometime.
My wife grew up around goats (I grew up around cows...), so she is a little intimidated by the size of a cow. Hope she gets used to it!:pat:

Here is a pic of the heifer:

Ahhh, she's cute. :thumb:
Good luck with her. Don't get to attached to her.

For the first time ever we saw a group of goats down by the river. They must've gotten out of there normal area. Funny to see that many of them on thei rown at the river.

Good looking cow, Doc's right... Don't get to attached, make it harder to eat later. Were going to try to get a couple this fall. One for my daughter to chase with her horse and the other to fill the freezer.
