im wanting import a used 09-2010 rtv 1100 to Australia has anyone ever imported one from u.s.a to austalia?
in Australia rrp $32,000 for rtv 1100 Kubota austalia the aussie dollar is worth about the same as u.s.a dollar

No, but I meet a member on here about 3 years ago, he need some things for his 900 ,and the price in Australia was crazy.

They were going to have to order it over there, and it was going to take a
very long time for him to receive.

So I purchased, I sent, and he paid me back. Saved big $$$$ .........

Think it took a about 9 days for him to get it ......... not bad >>>>>>

Never sent a full size RTV ...........

......... two guns

parts big $$$ in Australia no one tell why thay are so much out here!
Kubota aust want $150.00 for on rear uni jont you buy in u.s for $65 from Kubota some ripping us aussie off big time

I'd make sure the emissions on the RTV meet the law in Australia. I have heard rumor that those laws are getting stricter. You might end up freighting a machine there just to have it get locked up in customs being made here and not meeting your own countries requirements.
I'd wager the part of the price differences Sheep Farmer is seeing is because of freight costs. I'd think importing the whole machine would be a bit pricey too. With the cost of diesel and jet fuel and crossing a giant empty ocean to get stuff there I'd expect a significant price difference. Just maybe not as severe as the $150 for a $65 u-joint.

Not sure on the emission law in Australia, I'll to look in to that as far as I can work out RTV1100 made in USA are the same as out in Australia, so I assume the emission from them is the same.

To shipped to Australia from the port of California it will cost AU$3500 plus GST when it arrive in Australia. From that you do save $$ and warranty are void.

There are a couple of challenges to importing to aus. Don't forget AQUIS the quarantine folks. May I suggest you take a look at their requirements and costs especially if it's secondhand . my experience is that they can be difficult also check if this is classified as a motor vehicle as you need prior approval to import before it arrives. Hopefully its looked at as exempt but just check. Almost everything with wheels is a lot more expensive in Australia. I just purchased an imported Honda quad for A$9600 including all costs from someone who imports them privately and in the local Honda dealer the same thing is A$13600 It's identical to the Aus version except for color, and speedo and of course no warranty. Big saving....God Bless America
There are no emission issues.

Importing to Australia

We import used construction equipment and use a company in savannah GA to take care of all our transport, AQIS washing , shipping etc. we have never had a problem and we import 65 tonne excavators through to dozers and drilling equipment. Machinery export services have been a big help for us. Owned by an Aussie so know all the processes. We got a few gators and used kubota mowers last year. The gators needed to get an import approval that took about 4weeks. Thats the only process that is painful on wheeled equipment. Motorbikes and ATVs need to have the import approval through D.O.T.A.R.S (department of transport and regional services) . We bought a clue of rtv1100s for less than $10k at auction and have sent them to M.E.S and thy hod them there until they have a container full. Well worth a look. I have also had them fly out parts that I couldn't get here in oz.
Hope this helps

That's good to read that you can import without unreasonable restrictions.

Here in the US, Kubota Corp obtained an order ending gray market used Kubota tractors (and probably other Kubota stuff) from entering through Customs.

Importing

California,
Thanks for the reply. We have done a number of Kubota mowers, small tractors and excavators, all without any trouble. The manufacturers put pressure on the dealers not to sell to international buyers or they will lose their dealership rights. We do have a number of manufacturers that have those regulations in place for new and on the Kubota gear you will often see on low houred equipment they will have a line saying " not available for sale to international buyers" but there are ways around anything.

wow ktm990 what you are saying is helpful to us aussie out hereyou geing ripped off big time out here!!
I will look into it more!
thankyou

Hi Sheepfarmer

I'm using a company based in Dandenong called Ameroz to import a FEL for my JD lawn tractor (!) They sort out documentation, AQIS etc, and when a container is filled with personal imports, they ship it. You might see what they can arrange. If I had my chance again, I'd get my RTV from the US. Incidentally, with the RTV part-dismantled for shipping (roof, ROPS, steering wheel off) you might get a much better quote than $3,500.
