I am a new member and talking to you from Newfoundland Canada, (where the viking first landed ). Last year I made a tandem trailor and 2 weeks ago I bought the kubota rtv 900 togo with it. I havebeen checking this forum for the last 6 months for user feed back ( known problems and fixes ).

Ihave tosaid, this is the best forum that I seen for the kubota's rtv900. There is a good knowledge base here and if one is to ask a question ,the replies are that day ,if not the next. I personality think that some members are or should be working for Kubota.

Last weekend was the first time I have tried the kubota. My main concern was climbing hills. While I here to say that it will climb!!!!!!!!!!. It didn't go up as fast as the700 ranger but still make it.

Like many others in this forum ,the more I use it ,the more I'm impress by it,so I here to say I'm in love with K!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

I will have to say, this IS the best forum that a RTV owner could ask for. I myself, had a many of questions when I purchased mine in Feb. '07 ~~~ And after getting on this site, ALL my questions have been answered !!! There are some great folks out there that are always willing to help anyway they can. Wish everything in life was a nice as this place ~~~~ What model of RTV 900 did you purchase. And what are your plans on doing with it ???

HAVE A NICE DAY ~~~~

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your new RTV!

Tell us more. I'm also interested in info on your trailer as I'm considering making another myself.

I'm trying a set of 27 inch mud lites in the rear it see if the suspension would soften up.I'm playing around with the tire pressure to get the results that I want. So far its working ,but top end is not the same.I had a big foot kit from my polaris 700 that I am using. Another reason for the 27+12+12 is that I wanted a large foot print .

As for the trailer, its 19 ft long axles center about 2ft from center of trailer. When I first madethe trailer ,I had a side by side in mind. The bed is 15 by 7ft.I wascarring 3 atvs side on,rated about 3000lbs.I am thinking of adding a third axle. With the weight of the kubota 2000lbs,700 polaris 725 lbs, small atv trailer 60lbsplus fuel it is close to max.I have been making my own axles but down the road Imight put electric brakes on it.There is alots a tie downs with chains .I can do pictures if wanted. There is ways to build a good quality trailer with out spending a fortune.

If you're putting 27" in the rear, you really need to put the same on the front. If you mix sizes, it's going to put a heck of a strain on the 4-wheel drive and will most likely cause damage to the drivetrain.

Your trailer is much larger than what I was expecting. I already have a trailer slightly larger (and another slightly smaller). For that size trailer, I'm surprized it's rated at only 3000#. Not sure how things are in Canada but here, the trailer is also included in the weight rating so you would be waaaayyyyy over the rating since the trailer itself probably weighs about 1000#. Also, around here brakes are required for any trailer over 3000#.

I'm looking for something in the 5x10' range. Just large enough to put the RTV on it but then just the right size to tow behing the RTV. To keep my width down, I'm thinking of double axle with tires under the bed (like a snowmobile trailer). I also want to stay under the 3000# limit since I don't want brakes (since they could get damaged driving it off-road and through creeks and such.

Just need to know, what is a big foot kit ?

From what I understand, without a lift kit , a person can install 27" Mud Lites without rubbing , as long as they are not on rough / bad hilly ground . I have measures the 27/mudlites ~ new, they stand 27 1/2 tall ~~~~

Re: In love with the " K "

Fixed up something that made hauling the RTV easier. Installed a 4" cargo strap on the trailer. ( A 3" would do just fine also ) All you have to do in back the unit on the trailer, throw the strap over the back reciever , hook belt on the other side of trailer , and take the pinch-bar (wrecking bar) and tighten down. That darn RTV isn't moving anywhere till you want it to. Made itso much easier, FASTER , safer, than chaining or using rachets, cam-straps to hold it down. Before I rigged this up, I was tired before I ever got a going from putting on four different smaller straps, hooking and couldn't get them near as snug and tight as the cargo strap ~~~~

bczoon : You are right on both points.I have the 27's mounted on 10.5 inch rims, this is only a test to see how much power I would loose.I did not intend to lock it in .As for the ride ,it seems to have a small improvement. I will be mounting 27's on the front.

Back to the trailer. The trailor weights in around 500 lbs.I used tube steel to with 13 inch car tires to keep the weight down. Another axle with springs 100lbs. But I did nottake the weight of the trailer into account.I might have to use electric brakesafter all .Thanks for the tip.

Two Guns: A big foot kit is only wider rims with larger tires.Great idea on the tie down. I can see you costing we money.
