JD 460 with four way clam shell bucket cylinders leaking

I have a JD 1997 460 with loader and a four way bucket that is great for picking up logs and large rocks. It has two hydraulic cylinders that has been leaking slightly so I decided to have new seals put in. The shop is telling me he has to go to a JD dealer to buy them and new cylinders are almost $400 each because I have to go thru JD. The shop is going to see if new seals and polishing the shaft will work. Wondering if there is a less expensive alternate route like maybe buying new cylinders online. Thans. Jim

Sorry it is a mid size 1997 John Deere model 4600 with a 460 loader and a clamshell bucket. I can't find any pics of the bucket to include because it is being worked on

So this is a John Deere bucket (model unknown) on a 460 loader on a 4600 tractor? What's wrong with the shafts that seals won't solve the leaks? What's so special about the cylinders "the shop" can't solve the problems without new cylinders from Mother Deere?

I'm not sure how you expect any accurate answers without more detailed questions. I've replaced a number of hydraulic cylinders over the years for any number of reasons. Replacements aren't usually hard to find. Sometimes a little modification is required, or some different fittings, hoses, ETC but it usually works out. One would assume "the shop" could manage all that unless you can provide some details to the contrary.
