Lawsuits on Turn-Overs

Don't watch much television, don't have time, but seems like everytime I do happen to turn it on lately, there is a advertisement on lawsuits on the Yamaha Rhino, being where they want you to contact them if you have ever rolled over or a injury was caused by a roll-over with a Rhino. Must be something to this, for they are hitting Yamaha hard since the first of the year >>>>. And after reading the thread before this one, talking about roll-overs with the utility vehicles on U-Tube., I see they are some that just smoothly, softly, slowly just " Plunk " over ...... And it might have all to do with the spongy, lightersupension.....

Re: Lawsuits on Turn-Overs

I visit many UTV forums.

This has been a subject for many years.

You can look/search/determine for yourself. If you want specifics, I can point you to them and they're from Rhino owners.

My thoughts (and the consensus on the forums of the owners) are that most are user error. It''s ambulance chaser lawyers looking to make money and blame it on the manufacturer.

Re: Lawsuits on Turn-Overs

Now this roll-over,is what I would blame for suspension .... But then again, I'm no rock climber. >>>>>.

But I do agree with you bczoom, much of the errors in roll-overs is bad judgement on the owners ..... doing things they should not !!!!!

Re: Lawsuits on Turn-Overs

Who ever said any of these UTV's were rock climbers?

Most of the injuries occur when people instinctively put their leg out to stop it (like you do on a motorcycle). Yamaha has since provided EVERY Rhino with doors (for free).

Re: Lawsuits on Turn-Overs

That videois one of them two Guns there is no reason this should have rolled over had the suspenssion not been so soft and started the machine bouncing.

[/quote]

For those on the dunes or other relatively flat ground, a stiff suspension would have sent them flying instead. I'll stick with my thoughts/reasoning that most of the rolls are self-induced. People are pushing their equipment hard and their driving capabilities even harder.

Sorry if I come off wrong or nasty but people are doing things with their equipment that they shouldn't be. I know, I've been there myself. I wrecked and rolled many times and have the scars, broken bones and wrecked machines to prove it. Do I blame it on the mfgr??? No!!! If I was riding/driving as defined by the mfgr (and clearly stated on all those dashboard stickers), it wouldn't have happened.

Re: Lawsuits on Turn-Overs

rtv have less chance of a roll over because of a low center of gravity. the weight of the engine and transmission pretty well protects against roll over. in addition rtv's do go 40 plus mph.
