lights in reverse

anybody have lights in the back that come on when the machine is in reverse? i was going to mount 2 work lights on the screen facing back, i cant see anything at night when backing up.

Since Kubota makes a reverse alarm kit, it shouldn't be to difficult to do. Just have to find a part number for the reverse switch.

I replaced my oem tail lights with a pair of boat trailer lights (with the clear bottoms ) and they help light the area when backing up ,especially bright if you touch the brakes a bit. The extra light they throw while in park even helps when you are closing a gate behind your machine. Mud will cover the clear bottoms though if you are in muddy conditions. I had them on my '05 and liked them so much, that I swapped out the oem from the new 2011 to the '05 when I sold it, and put the boat lights on my new machine. An oem back up light would be real handy . This is an old issue I wish Kubota had addressed with the improvements. bordercollie

For my use, I mounted a flood directly in back of the driver up high out of the way that can swivel up and down and left and right. For the switch on and off I reach directly overhead to my lighted switch panel and flip it on when I need it...........Yes, perhaps it would be LOTS easier if the switch was directly connected to reverse; but for my use as going in reverse at night is totally rare, not something I worry about.......God bless.....Dennis

I am new to the forum so I am sure I am not experienced enough to weigh in with a lot of credibility, however I had the same question/issue when I bought my 1140. My solution was to mount LED worklights from Northern Tool (about $35.00 each) to the roof (unlike what you are looking for it is switched from the cab. I would think that the earlier suggestion of the back up kit and perhaps a simple relay would give you the auto-on function you seek.)

I do like the roof mount because it also lights up the bed if I need to work out of it. Of course your needs may be different.

I also found it convenient to use the mounting holes and U-Bolt of the canopy to secure the lights.

I hope this was useful.

Sorry that this is late....

I know you already solved your problem...but I ran across this while looking for some other accessories. I thought I would post for the group since it appears to be right on point of the original question. I only wish I saw this earlier.
