using a auger pto will stop running, push clutch in then back out or disengage pto and engage again pto will run again. All other function of the tractor work . all other preliminary check ok.

Sounds like the PTO clutch isn't quite right and needs adjusting.
Do you have the manual? It should show you how to align. If no manual, do an internet search to see how to align. I think this is common so a youtube video may show you how to get it right.

Not all tractors are created equal. On some models much of what goes on inside varies from one transmission version to another. In this case it looks like the PTO is driven through the engine clutch in both gear drive and hydrostatic transmissions, so your symptoms lean towards the clutch slipping. Is there any free play in the clutch pedal? Will the tractor pull up a hill in high range without the clutch slipping?

thank you for helping me out. this tractor belongs to a sportsmens club that I belong to. I do not have a service manual, free play is 3/4 of a inch, it will pull a hill in high range. I searched the net and there are issues with clutch doing what this one is doing. Mahindra knows about this but will only help if its under warranty. The cost of repair 2,500. Are there any special tools other then the clutch alignment tool I may need? Thanks
