New here, let me introduce my RTV500

Just joined up. I bought my Kubota RTV500 last month. So far I've added a 4500lb capacity Superwinch, a lot of drama with that BTW. Anyhow, I added some bed rails today to increase the hauling capacity for things like firewood. I see some familiar screen names from another forum, good to see some other forumites here :)

Welcome to the forum, General!

You have a lovely machine--and nice job on the bed rails. If I am correct in thinking that you have not applied any bedliner, you may want to consider doing so. I am sure that the others will have lots of other add-on advice!

And don't keep us in the dark about your superwinch adventures. We love to hear about all kinds of adventures, esp. with pics!

I do plan on adding a bed liner, hopefully sooner than later. Not sure if I want to do it myself or have it done professionally.

As far as the winch, I just installed the 3rd one. Got the first one at Christmas as a gift. It blew an inner seal after only winding the rope on. Bought it from Amazon. Amazon sent out a replacement, got it installed and a few days later used it once to pull me off a log as I was high centered. After that one time use, that one blew the same seal. Called Superwinch and sent pictures explaining 2 brand new winches chewed up an inner seal and spit it out from the gear box. They sent me a new one. Just put it on today and now I'm hoping the 3rd time is a charm! :)

What a nuisance with the winches! And a bit unsettling to have the exact same thing go wrong two times in a row. Fingers crossed for #3!

Nice Machine!

Welcome to the forum.

What a PITA that must have been with the winches. Let's hope this one holds out for you.

Doggman,

They're really quiet. My Dad has one and it just purrs.

On the 900 (or bigger), from idle to max rpm, I don't think the DB's change much, just the pitch.

Something like a Polaris Ranger is relatively quiet at idle but you can't hear yourself think at higher RPM's.
