New Kubota Dealership Opened

Kubota opened, this week, a new dealership here in my little corner of Paradise--Oxford, Mississippi.

Oxford Kubota. Pretty clever business name.

I met the owner yesterday. He's sunk his life savings and all the credit he could muster into this new enterprise. I will give him all my Kubota business--which would only lead to starvation--and I'll tell others. Heretofore, the three nearest Kubota dealers were, respectively, 55 miles away, 70 miles away, and 75 miles away. This is a boon for me.

The economy is definitely improving, coming off the incredible world-wide thrashing it began in 2007.

It's nice to have a close dealer, especially if he's gung-ho into the business.

Our closest dealer closed down a few years back. Luckily (for me), I haven't needed service beyond what I could do and I already had a cache of fluids and filters.

Congrats Heatwave. :thumb:
That would be nice. I have a couple Kubota dealers in the area, one is 40 minutes north of me the other is 50 minutes south of me. Nothing really close but I do live in the sticks. :yum:

Are the Dealers strickly Kubota in your areas?:confused2: Where I live, just across the border from Detroit, the Kubota dealer in my area is mainly the Case IH dealer with Kubota and Bobcat on the side.

i pass 2 dealers on the way to work everyday,,depending on which way i go. One in Dayton, 1 in Springfield, and the phone book says there are 3 more within 25 miles of me.

The bad thing about it is I drive 100 miles a day going to work....

Congrats Heatwave on the close dealer! If he's got that much in it he will probably do all he can to make and keep customers!

I have 1 about 14 miles from me, and I all but refuse to give him any business. When I started looking for a tractor I spent 20 minutes there waiting, and never did have anybody come out. First time I serviced my 'bota I orderded my filters from Messicks for I think $25 less, after shipping. I bought about 65 miles from home, they fell over themself to help me.
(Off soap box now.)

Our local long-time dealer sold out fairly recently to a large multi-state multi-store Case IH dealer, who moved in last year by absorbing the former smaller Case IH dealership, building a brand new facility to replace the smaller one destroyed by a tornado a year ago. The former owner of the Kubota dealer still works for the megadealer locally, though, and at least some of his people. I've been in two or three times; sales, parts, and admin all very friendly and helpful. Looks like it's going to be a good fit.
