Hi all, Found this forum today and wanted to say that the information provided seems great. I appreciate the opportunity to learn tips and experience from others who have the RTV. Wife surprised me this Christmas with a new RTV900R6. We live in Moore Idaho on a small horse ranch. So far I have only run this unit around in the snow for a few hours. Kinda cold weather for anything more. My question is what others think about the benefit of installing a fuel filter kit. All diesels need to have assurance that the injectors get benefit of the cleanest fuel possible. Your thoughts are appreciated. Keep up the great exchange of info on this forum.

I guess you gave your wife a big HUG-TOO. Great Christmas gift that you and she will get a long time of enjoyment out of. Congratulations!

This forum is a fine place to find out a lot about the RTV, although the opinions seem to be biased at times. But then this is a RTV forum. Good luck with the new rig-post often.

Welcome to the Kubota UTV site from another Idaho owner. I have the ATV type tires on mine and it is doing fantastic in this snow. I hardly need 4 wheel drive.

The best way to keep the fuel clean is to only fuel with clean fuel and watch what goes near the tank opening. At this point you have at least one inline fuel filter, if not two, depending on model and year.

You have two choices, one is, keep an eye on the filters you have now. They are clear plastic and should easily show any dirt. Or, you can add a filter kit if it will give you peace of mind.

Hi to the Baldwins and Welcome to our RTV family of friends. Have fun with the new machine keep us informed about the uses ya'llfind for it. I depend on mine for everything on this Angusfarm. Bordercollie[&][&]

Do any of you fix fence?

I can pay with encouragement, coffee and of course lots of stories (some even contain the truth).

Hi ,This place has tons of electric fence and we use 3 chargers to cover it all. What kind of fence are you talking about? This is about all we have now. Let me know and I will try to help. The RTV makes working on any fence so much easier I keep my fence tools and parts within easy reach and always ready. I keep a spare canvas bag of tools under the hood as well as a rainsuit ,streamlight, and every thing I might need occasionally. I keep my other stuff in the steel toolbox I made. It runs along the left side so I can reach it all. Bordercollie[&][&]

My lame effort at being funny. My horses here seem to eat wood fence. I keep up as best I can with repairs. Wish all my fence was steel.

I thought you were serious. Haha I need a good laugh today as we worked until way after dark. I liked the "lame " part of your answer too .. pretty good for a horse guy!!If you ever do add a high tensile electricwire next to that wood to prevent the chewing let me know. Our old horses respect our fence and won't even test it.{Old Horse resthome of snorts so think Eeyores.}Bordercollie[&][&]

New member looks like there is some good info here I have a Freind that has a RTV 900 that I put a head on last summer ( it was cracked ) an now he is telling me that is still usin water could not see any water items on the forum does anybody have any idea.

What i generally do if there is a water leak is run the enginew till it warms up real good them park it in the garage and turn it off and come back 30 minutes later to see if any water is on the floor.I had a stick run up the frame a few years back and it hit one of the cooling hoses just right to put a small tear in it.If its a hose leak you should see antifreeze or water on the floor. In not check the oil and make sure there isnt any water in the oil.If water in oil id suspect head gasket issues.
Other than that them are the only places I can think of that the water is going to.Make sure antifreeze is mixed right. If running straight water which is a no no it could be evaperating but thats highly unlikely.
Let us know if you find anything out for future reference

Been reading some of these older threads as I'm new here. I can relate to your "truth" comment. When I first came to Texas eons ago, I was told by an old rancher, A true Texan never lets the facts get in the way of a good story. Oh my my, truer words were never spoken around here. LOL
