New Tires on RTV

Hi Seery, I have really enjoyed my ITP 27" XTR radials. I have over 145 hrs on this set of tires and really like them. They still look new.I have 9" wide in front and 11" wide in back. They are 6 ply and my sidewall rates them at495lbs at 7 psi max. I keep about 20 in the rear or they will sit somewhatflat.I keep about 12 in the front, This over inflationworried me at first, since the machine is heavy but I have hauled about 600 to 800 lbs with no trouble. They rideand handlewell.I have to travel about 4 miles down a paved road to reach the end of this place and the radials handle like a dream. I can split down the gravel road or across the pasture it doesn't matter to me or the RTV. These tires are easier on my neck and back since the bumps aren't as rough as with the stiffer tires.Somewhere in my tire search, I read that the 27" have 1/8" deeper tread than the 26" and the 27"setonly cost$15 more. That is a lot more rubber so I went with them.{ $ 400 delivered}. Before the XTR's I had replaced my WS with a set of plain mudlites with polished rims. These lasted hundreds and hundreds of hours before finally developing knots. They were near the end of useful life anyway. I intend to keep the WS mounted on the factory rims for emergencies or summer use. It is hard to go back to the short tires after having the taller ones. But I was really glad to have them on standby when the knots developed and I was waiting for the XTR's to come in. I had the XTRs put on my old polished rims. My original Kubota rims are12" . So I ordered 27"talland the width I wanted to fit a 12 " rim. I wanted 9"width in front to avoid rubbing and 11" in the rear.I have 1765 Hrs on my RTV {Hoss} and just love it and these tires make it even better.Ask any questions you like and good luck deciding[&][&]! I got to agree with you bordercollie,

Friend on another farm, just purchased a set of the radials, ( for his RTV ) and they are some really great tires.

They do everything a man would want out of a new set ~~~~ He's as happy as a pig !!!!

Bordercollie,
I increased the P.S.I. from 8.5 up to 20 in the rear tires and 12 in front tires and gave it a spin today. Handles great. I am including a picture of MudLight XTR before I installed it so that other members can see the size of the tread. My son is inspecting the tire in the photo.

Here is another picture from today. My wife, son, dog, and I took a ride to the back pasture to test out new tires in the snow. While taking a short break, I decided to take a picture and share. RTV 900 Recreational with MudLites XTR 27s. Tires handle great. I still have to put it in 4X4 every so often on hills, but besides that I just use 2 wheel drive and keep it in middle gear.

Does it get much better on a Sunday or any day? Great family, snow background, dog looking for scent, and dad getting it on film. [:D]

Thanks for sharing.

Great pic DH. Gotta love the snow. Wed don't get the snow we used to here in the thumb area of Michigan, but still get a decent amount.

Well you folks have caused a few more $$'s to fall from my pockets, Wednesday I'll be ordering the ITP 27" XTR radials from ATO.

Front 27x12x09
Rear 27x12x11

So these will work on my factory rims???

Bordercollie - How are they on the grass and pastures in spring and summer. I'd like to keep them on year round and keep the WS tires as back-up like you did.

Yesterday I couldn't make it up the steepest hill on our property even with a running start. 3/4 the way up and she would sink in the wet snow and start spinning! Arghhhh!!!! It's a darn steep hill in good weather but darn I can't let the snow beat the BOTA! Just lowered the tire pressure from 20# to 13# and it helped.

That is a great picture of the Family >>>> and the RTV looks good too !!!!

Be your ride is so much better with the radial mud-lites ~~~

Now that's a super picture, the little-one rather ride the new Mud-Lites than ride the horse ~~~

That's when you know you made the right choice, when the young-in climb aboard and want to ride !!!

Hi Seery, Just to make sure your current rims will fit ask the new tire seller. My WS rims are 25/10-12. So it is thelast number in my samplethat has to stay the same{rim size- 12} The width is the 10 in my example and the 25 is the height. The XTR's I have are 27/9-12 and 27/11-12.I don't know what a set of plain rims costs, but you might consider what the cost to mount new tires tothe old rims would be, the cost of not having back ups tires already mounted and just see what the difference would be to you. I love theseXTR's in the pasture. In fact, if I were using the WS, I wouldn't get but about 10' in the wet months. I never took off my old mudlites last year, was just too afraid of getting in an old rut with the WS.and having to walk home . I would just heat up the grass when pulling heavy stuff with them.I just saw a set like myXTR's but with rims mind you for $430 or best offer plus $30 shipping on ebay. Now that is less than I have ever seen if they have the kubota rims available. If driving in snow is anything like mud or water-- I feel you pain. And aggressive tread is the treatment. Today, I zipped thru 6" mud in M. Yea!! Ask any questions you like. Take your time and enjoy picking out your tires. Bordercollie[&][&]
