New to me , 2017 rtv x1100c

A coast plug (actually called "coast valve") can be purchased and installed to the RTV if you don't like the abrupt stop when you let off the go-pedal.

Be advised that when installed, your RTV will pretty much coast to a stop as it'll remove most of the engine braking. If you live in hilly terrain, you'll lose the engine braking when going down a hill and need to use the brake instead.

Many like the coast valve but for those of us that live in the steep hills, many prefer the engine braking and just get used to feathering off the pedal slowly to avoid the abrupt stop.

Sorry to bounce so many questions , but ,,,

What is a coast plug ? Is there a need for one on a 2017 x1100c ?
When you abruptly “let up” on the “accelerator” of a standard RTV the machine abruptly slows down just like the tractor engine/transmission which is installed on this thing does on a tractor. Car-drivers are accustomed to the automobile “coasting” in a S L O W deceleration and some folks cannot get used to the idea that on an RTV ...if you don’t want to decelerate rapidly... then don’t yank your foot off the “accelerator” rapidly.... let up on the gas s l o w l y.

The GOOD thing about the HST factory-setup is that the RTV will go down a steep slope S L O W L Y ... and Safely...instead of picking up speed and you slamming on the brakes and sliding sideways to a stop because it surprised the heck out of you.

It’s a driving-technique/learning-curve that makes sense to me so I’m happy with the way Kubota made it...but not to everyone.

I'm in shock . I ordered tires for my new to me machine on Wednesday at about 4:00 pm . Just got an email from FedEx , they are on the truck for delivery today , Friday . If this is true that is truly spectacular , I think I have whiplash , it was so fast .

I have to follow up on this . I ordered this at 4 pm Wednesday and received them at
1:00 Friday . 45 hours from point of order to receiving of it . Shipped From Kentucky to South Dakota . Wow , that is fast by anyone's standard .

15 above zero f. isn't to cold for no.2 low sulfur diesel fuel. the glow plugs for about five seconds and it will start up just fine. shouldn't need any additive other than some power service or sea foam on occasion. the HST is the term for the Hydrostatic drive transmission. the fluid for the X1100C would be SUDT2. there is a fill and check point under the seat tray for the HST and a dipstick in the top of the gear case. both take the same oil but are separate compartments. you can find a free owners manual in the above sticky section.

Project Farm has produced a video comparing the different “anti gel” products, including Power Service, Howes, Stanadyne, and Hot Shot Secret brand names. The two that actually work best? Stanadyne and Hot Shot Secret. The others failed his testing procedures in lubricity.
