oem windshield for x900

Jst called my local dealer and priced a glass windshield on my new x900. They quoted me a plexiglass windshield at $400, me assuming that it was lexan at that cost and told them to order it for me.

After reading more about the windshields I pretty much decided to go with glass vs any kind of plexi or lexan. I then proceded to call them thats when I found out the windshield was plexu and not lexan. We all know the plexi will scratch and look like shit jst from sitting in the shed, ime not wasting $400 on that.

They quoted me $749 installed for the tempered glass windshield, the cheapest of the 3 glass oem windshields.

Seems a little outrageous for glass is their any other options out their for a good windshield?

Just depends upon how you are gonna use that machine. Some folks have the plastic and say it works just fine. Some use shrink wrap for a season and then renew it and are perfectly happy.............Ya pay for what you get and how you use it...........God bless.....Dennis

I would go with the glass as well, there was a good thread on this topic a couple of weeks ago.

striperfisher,
Welcome to our forum !!!! Happy your here.

About the glass windshield. I own one. LOVE IT !!!!

At 749$, that is high for anyone. BUT, that is being installed.
It's worth 200 plus dollars to me for installation. That is just me.
That glass and frame is heavy. And I would die if I went to install and
broke the damn thing. Let them install, the gamble is on them. They break, they buy !!!! You break, you buy ...... Just that simple >>>>

Dealer installed our windshield when RTV was new. ( Feb, 2007 )
Kubota OEM Roof V4217 *** Kubota OEM Glass Windshield w/ Metal Frame V4216 >> $550.00 installed
With this being said. My dealer let me have this windshield at his cost. AND, he installed it at no cost.
Then, about three years ago., brought my RTV down to another plantation
and left it for a few hours. Vandalism got my windshild. ( Thugs thought my RTV belonged to that land owner, he cought them tresspassing a few days before)
Got another windsheild. $497.00 >>> just for the glass ( that was NOT at cost).
Mrs. Two Guns & myself installed it. Now, I can say, it is worth every nickel to let them install the OEM
V4216 windshield ....
Plus, I like the way the bottom of the windshield "kicks-out" for summer draft !!!!

Ask your dealer if they can order from orangeaftermarket.com.
We cant but the dealer can. They have a lot of good stuff for the Kubota RTV's and the prices are good.

This one looks nice

update: purchased the oem tempered glass windshield $750 ouch!!!

me and my father installed it in about 20min very easy to install very happy with the look of the glass windshield.

Also purchased the deluxe mirrors for the sides of windshield frame, haven't installed them yet but a very nice high quality set of mirrors, will get some pics up after the mirrors go on

I have the glass windshield as well and love it. How much were the mirrors, I need to get some for mine.

Deluxe mirrors part #VC5076 were supposed to be $115 @ the dealer guess they felt sorry for chargin $750 for the windshield and $240 for a bedliner I got the mirrors for $85.

And a side note, they will work with factory glass windshield frame, doors, no doors or even come with clamps if you dont have a windshield and want to mount them to the rop bar.

Very nice looking mirrors and very well built, better then any I have seen in ebay for $60 to $80 buks.

Ill get sum pics loaded up tommorow after we get them put on

Thanks Striper I orderd a set from the Kubota dealer today, $28 for each of the side mirrors and $47 for the rear view mirror, they will be here early next week, the salesman told me that they were really good quality mirrors, time will tell.

Now that looks good, If they are OEM mine should look the same. They look like you can rotate them closer to the cab for tight trails. Thanks for sharing Striper I really appreciate the information and the photos.

What part number did you order. If you paid $28 each for them you got a better deal then I did at $87 or so I paid for mine.

And yes they can be turned inward close to the cab. Kubota also makes a cheaper set besides the deluxe mirrors, are you mounting them to a windshield frame or the rop bar?

Striper, The dealer told me the mirrors I ordered are the best ones that Kubpta offer and they mount to the ROPS bar. I think they are probably the same ones you have, at least I hope so. I will find out early next week.

I didn't get the part number but I let you know next week, I do know each mirror has a different number.

The mirrors came with a bracket to be mounted to the passenger side of the vehicle. Instructions said the passenger mirror will be viewed threw the windshield using this bracket only on the passenger side.

We found no need for it as the mirrors worked fine mounted the same both sides

Yeah the dealer said mine will mount to the ROPS just that one mirror is a left the other a right. Really won't know until next week.

Looks good striperfisher. Looking to get one for my 1120D. Not sure if I should get the tempered glass, laminate glass or the polycarbonate one.
My dealer said the tempered one is not available, don't know why.
Where did you get yours? $750 sounds good compaired to the $1101 and $1210 over here.
Can you tell me or show pics of how it is attached to the machine?

I remember my dealer saying something about on the outside of the box that my tempered glass windshield came in Part #VC5025, that it would not fit the 1120D only the x900.

He didn't understand that, he said their was no difference between the two machines wear the WS mounted at, but the instructions that came inside the box said it would fit both machines. Kubota's website under build your cab section list the same WS for both machines.

I will say you have to have the correct plastic roof to work with any of the WS's
has to be Part #VC5011, their other Plastic canopy Part #V5221 will not work with them, so make sure what top you have or purchase.

Their are 4 bolts across the top of the roof that the WS bolts into along with 2 large U bolts that clamp the WS to the bottom of each ROP bar as in goes down into the frame of the machine, mounts very solid. Very easy for 2 people to install if you don't want to haul it to your dealer.

The tempered glass windshield and the laminated glass WS is the only option's you have if you want a glass WS, the Poly Carb WS they offer @ $1200 is only Lexan with MR10 coatings on it to make it very scratch resistant.

Resistant being the key word here, the wiper you see mounted in the Picture on kubota's website will eventually scratch the windshield, sure it is unbreakable but with years to come you will have a shitty lookin WS
