Oil change at 25 hrs...

I did an oil change and it was pretty black. I'm using the same oil I use for my Dodge Cummins: Delo 15w40. I believe in changing oil often. I live in a dusty area so it makes sense. I also cleaned the air filter. I'm debating whether to do the 50 hr service myself or take it in.</P>

When changing my fluids, I sticking to the Super UDT fluids. They are best for the Hydro transmission..... And engine oil, Kubota 30W or 15W-40 oil >>>>>>>></P>


We've all have paid a good price for the investment for a RTV's.... I don't mind spending a little extra to make sure it has the best !!!! After spending many hoursin research on the engine oils for these units, I will only go back in with the Kubota Fluids. I plan on keeping this machine for awhile. Even after the first of the year, we plan on purchasing another RTV, being a 1100 series unit, Still keeping the 900 for myself !!!!!!</P>


Figured if I can afford the price of the RTV's, I can afford just a few more dollars for quality oils .........As we all know, you get what you pay for, that's why we have the RTV's >>>RIGHT !!!</P>

Oak Hills, CA</P>[/quote]I would also stay with the Kubota UDT Hydro fluids from what I have read here&from what my dealer tells me.I just changed my oil and went with Mobil fully Syn.5w-40 diesel oil.I live in a cold climate and run schaeffers supreme Syn.9000 5w-40 oil in my cummins dieselalso.Chevron delooil is a very good diesel oil,I ran it in my 2004 cummins before I switched to the Schaeffers.coobie
 
I run the delo oil in my rtv. this oil has almost the same propertys as a syn oil. out here on the west coast we can generally get away with the 15-40 oil. [H]
 
Hey JWAYS how dirty was your airfilter? I know that a large number of the people here have gone to the high mount air filter. I know this has kept my filter almost brand new. if you don't have one you might think about it. Jon[H]</P>

I used Delo in my '99 Dodge and now my '05. As far as the other fluids, I'll use the Kubota stuff.</P>


Where abouts are you in Northern Cal?</P>

The air filter was quite dusty. I can't give you a quantitative measurement, other than when I took the air hose to it, it made a pretty good cloud. I live in a dusty area here.
