Oil change question

OK, so this time when I changed the oil in my 900, I did an engine flush cause I wanted to see clean oil when finished on the stick. Well, after the flush with Amsoil engine flush, and a loooong drain. I filled it up with new oil and it is still black as coal. Did I miss something or doies everyone else have this experience?

I've had a few diesels, mostly Fords, and after a flush, and oil change at least the dip stick check after runing a few seconds, the oil usually stays "clean" for 5 minutes or more, but not this little 3 banger. Oh well, I thought there might be some secret oil chamber that was holding some old oil, but I suppose not.

Getting rid of that old oil got rid of the acids that are in the oil from combustion. Regardless if looks clean after the change means very little. If you really want to know what is going on in that engine send an oil sample off to Blackstone to be analyzed.

My oldest son, just done the Amsoil thing to his Ford diesel truck.
Flush and installed the Amsoil.
His plans are to install the Amsoil By-Pass System on this vehicle ....

...... Amsoil is some great oil >>>>

Alot of folks like Amsoil for their diesels, but I don't. I was an Amsoil "dealer" and used their 3000 diesel oil in my 2002 7.3 for almost 100k and sent evey oil change and in-between to blackstone for analysis. Everything was good until my iron started to take a dump. Blackstone said to drain my new oil immediately and refill with new amsoil. I did that and ran it another 3,000 miles and changed again with almost the same iron results. I then switched to Delo 400 15-40 and went another 82k with no more iron problems and sold the truck. If you go on www.bobtheoilguy.com and do some searches, you'll find that there are many, many cases of Amsoil not performing like they advertise, at least on the diesels. I still use Amsoil in my gassers and in my snowmobiles, but not in my diesel Kubota and never will.

I also ran two different 7.3 diesels, one was a 7.3 non turbo and an 88 and the other an 02 turboed and all I ever used was Mobil Delvac 1300, 15-40 and that is what I use in both of my Botas.
