Overheating problem

Kent

Hi, I have a RTV900 with a heater and one of the heater hoses rubbed against the front drive shaft and wore a hole in it. I cut out the bad spot and spliced the hose back together. I also added some anti-freeze. Now the RTV heats up (overheats) very quickly. It acts as though no water is circulating. I suspect an airlock? or stuck thermostat.

Any thoughts. Thanks

Hi Kent, I bumped Captains thread in case it might have some information in it you could use. It does sound like an air lock. I posted there about having read you can make burping easier by elevating the front of the machine some-incline or jack- never tried it though. Does the fan come on? I did send you a couple of messages but will be away from the 'puter till tomorrow evening. Good luck bordercollie
