<P mce_keep="true">Two Guns you were asking about the snow melting up North the other day and after watching the national news last night about all the flooding North of you, probably need to look for RTV pontoons. The creek is going to rise down where you are I would guess.</P>
 
<P mce_keep="true">Well, not to make light of the water going south, but where the Ohio and Mississippi go together the crest is projected to be 15 feet above floor stage. That is almost out our front door. Hopefully, this will get out of the way before the snow melt starts and the folks down south will get only a bump. It is a mess around here because the Ohio was 4 feet above flood stage when the heavens open-up and gave us almost 1/4 of the yearly rain fall in 36 hours. We are high enough to not be affected where the house is but have water on three sides.</P>

I'll 2nd that water, a lot of it, is on the move right now.</p>

I went out today and took some back roads. The creeks and rivers are running at about 4 times their normal.</p>

<P mce_keep="true"> Every waterwaywe have down here now is full of water. Don't need no more .....I had myfather & brother have moved equipment for about four days . They just got finished gettin' all of it out and putting it up on higher ground. If we would have waited another day,would not havegotit out, water is going over the roads going in and out of the properties now.... But that's no big deal, it happens this time damn near every year down here. BUT, we sure don't need all that melting snow to come a rushing down here, throws everything in a twist !!!!!!</P>
 
<P mce_keep="true">Every river up here in central andsoutheast Missouri is in flood stage now. The county roadby my place washed out 5' in one place. Even the RTV won't handle that.Sounds likeNick-America is getting it, too, in southern Illinois. I'll be living in my knee boots for awhile. </P>
<P mce_keep="true">Two Guns and Tommy20/69, I'm sorry to say it's headed your way. You can bet they'll be busy up there at the Old River Control Structure in Concordia Parish trying to keep it out of your backyard. At least this signals that winter is over around here...</P>

<P mce_keep="true">The rains have hit us really hard,,,10+ inches in the last 7 days, about 2-4 every week for the last several weeks. All my ponds are running over,All 5 gates have been open for 5 days on Lake Fork and my once small creek running thru my property is not 50ft wide and probably 6ft deep.! Rain has been crazy this year.! Think I lost a feeder down by the creek,,cant quite get close enough to see it yet. though.. Might have to get me a snorkle for the RTV if this keeps up!</P>

I was moving to Rapides parish from the Jena area.and we were going down hwy 28( that levee type road).between Archie and Holloway ... well I looked out the window and there was a horse strapped to a very long rope being carried by a 'copter across the treetops. And those wild pigs were everywhere trying to outrun the water. So get ready. I hope this won't mess up the planting season but I am sure it will hurt.I will be thinking of all my friends. Yes, bordercollie, Remember it very well ..... 1973 was bad, they said that in '78 , water didn't get as bad, but I know they were wrong, for the water - marks on some of the property down belowthe parish,showed over 6-8 inches over 1973's marks...... The water was coming up so fast in 1978, that several of us decided to go make one more trip to one of our camps, that morning right after daylight, we worked most of the day, winching equipment up in the big trees, had four hunting jeeps winched up and cabled off into someold trees. We really stayed in there to long, for we had tandem trailers loaded down with other stuff, trying to get it out also, and we almost didn't make it out, matter of fact, one of the four wheel drive trucks somehow sucked up some water and died, could not crank it, so we had to get them two men, and leave that truck and trailer loaded. Lost the all that .... But it was a nightmare all away around. Many folks lost much, property, equipment, livestock >>>>> But that's when you really find out how close folks are, people helping people...... </P>
