Hello all, just stumbled across this forum. Im looking for information on how to remove the rear propeller shaft from the transmission on my 07 rtv 900.

thanks

.Hi and welcome. You will need to remove the rear "bumper" and expose both sides. It the assembly isn't rusted, like happened to me, it should be a fairly easy job. You will most likely need the oil seals and also inspect the bearings while you have it torn down. The thread that spudhauler listed is one I participated in. It gets off track a bit , but the information on u joints is helpful in my opinion. bordercollie

edit: You can also see a diagram of the parts and how they go at the Messick's site. Just put in the model # etc and swoosh :) it's sent to your email. I'm sending you a pm with a link to some pictures out of the manual showing the rear ujoint info.. Remember not to take off the splindled shafts without marking their orientation . There is a flat place on the shafts that should only be replaced the same way as removed.
