Question on the X1100's

Been reading the past threads, where some members that bought new RTV x1100
found that there was slack in the front and rear suspensions. Does any one know if the problem has been addressed by Kubota? I am looking at buying one, asked the local Kubota dealer if he had heard about any problems about the slack in the suspension and he had'nt heard nothing. Thanks

First of all no it has not been fixed. I think they are probably working on it but nothing yet. Second, I cannot believe that the dealer hasn't heard about it. I have been contacted by the regional rep about the issue. They surely have told the dealers what is going on. That would make me very skeptical about that particular dealer.

I did E-mail Kubota to see if they are doing something about it.Will let you know their response. Tailrotor, you have a new machine, have you noticed any noises or slack in the suspension?

I only have 14 hrs on mine but the play in the rear wheels and the slop in the front were they from day one. I have no noise at all and neither does the one we have at work and it has 75 hrs on it.

I have look at adding some washers up front to take the slop out of the front and putting bushings in the rear but haven't had time to mess with it to busy. And still hoping Kubota comes up with a fix or upgrade.

If they don't I will fix mine sooner or later no big deal.

I can say this I really like this Unit!!! The ride is great!! And power is good a little weak with ac on but is getting better as it breaks in.

Don't let the wobble thing worry you even if kubota doesn't do anything about it it's fixable and can be fixed for under 100 bucks on your own.

It is truly a night and day difference between the old and new ones my neighbor is considering trading his for a new model after taking mine for a ride.

The ride is truly amazing!!

Good luck with your decision I say go for it!!

Thanks for the comments Tailrotor, that's good to hear it would be an easy fix.I did speak with another dealer and he said the same as the first one, plus as we were on the phone he checked his dealers web site for any bulletins on the subject and nothing came up.
He did say in his opinion, there could have been a bad batch of bushings for that days production, and if that was the case he believed Kubota would correct the problem.
So we will see.

I have been on the fence for a while about the new machines on whether to upgrade to a new one. My 1100 works just fine but the new ones have some really nice features that make them a lot better. I see that tailrotor has the 27 inch tires on his that increases the ground clearance a bit and might give you a mile or two faster speed on flat ground. Really looks like 28 might fit with out rubbing but would be close. It sure is a nice looking setup.

Why would you buy a new one with a factory defect?

That's a lot of money for something that does not work right.

Art454, I just spoke with the Dealer today, and I did email him the thread which explains the trouble some members are having with their RTV's (slop in the suspension) He said
they have not had no issues like that with the X series. He spoke with a sales rep about it and the rep was aware of the problem and that it was only on the earlier models that had the problems and that they had corrected it.Dealer said when my RTV comes in they will run it in the shop jack it up and check it.

Have they fixed the one out there as of late....from what it looks like here is no.

I would definitely run it around there shop a few days to really make sure myself before I would buy one with the known problem.

They tell you anything now days to sell you something.

Buyer Beware.

Seems like this is really getting bad with most things you buy now days.

Good Luck with your decision.

Mine was delivered 8/15/14 and it has no slop. I've been happy with it, no rattles, clunks or squeaks, and it rides well. It would fall on it's face, you let off on the throttle and it would take right off again. They told me about that when they delivered it and Kubota was working on a fix as not all of them were doing it. It go's in this week for pressure and linkage adjustment for that problem. It has stopped doing that with 350 miles on it, not sure what the Hrs. are right now. But they still want to do some adjusting to it. Fine with me. Maybe when I get it back it well hit 25 instead of 23-24 mph with a pressure bump. Hope, hope.

That's good to hear Orangebuggy,I did buy one, had it for 2 months now, this one has no slop at all in the suspension front or rear.Top end speed 24 mph, which is good enough for me. It is a great machine,no complaints so far.It has a super ride and at -16 below the cab and heater is nice to have.

You cant tell by just looking at them and driving them you have to jack the wheels up off of the ground to see the slop.

That was the first thing I done when I brought it home, the dealer did the same when they received it at their shop, No Slop

Had mine out yesterday so I could try out the heater. We got 2 to 3 inches of snow (had to play in that to you know) overnight. It was only 20 but good enough to give that heater a try. I'm happy with it and the AC.

I have had my 1100c now for a few days. i am the 2nd owner but it only had 18 hours on it. i can't find any slop or clunks as of yet. i did notice on the front suspension in the end of the control arms there is a rubber bushing and the arms are a tight fit. makes me wonder if kubota fixed this issue??

I don't know if they have corrected the problem or if it was a bad batch of bushings during that time frame of production. Since I bought mind, the dealer has sold at least 4
more x1100c's,and they check everyone for slop and have found nothing.

I haven't examined the rear in detail yet but in the front as i understand the problem was forward and rearward travel of the wishbone on its pivot. on my machine there is no room yet for any extra travel. either the bushings are thicker or the manufacturing specs are tighter between the two components.

Bought mine in September of this year and have had it jacked up with all four wheels off the ground and don't have any slack front or back. Really have been enjoying the hard working rtv.IMG_0123.jpg

Good to hear that, they are a great machine. I hope those that have slack in the suspensions can get them corrected.I've have around 1000 miles on mine, couple weeks ago I notice grease was all over the right rear boot next to the wheel.took to the dealer, they said the band was loose which was why the grease coming out. They went ahead and replaced the whole right rear axle and boots.Just to be safe.So it's something to keep and eye on.
