Quieter Muffler???

I would like my RTV900 to be less noisy. I also want to avoid all the spark arrestor issues mentioned here on other threads. Is there an after-market muffler that will safely make my Kubota quieter? Or has anyone been able to add a second auxillary muffler behind the OEM unit (and throw away the spark arrestor altogether)? Thanks, Dave

is there anyway you can post some good picutres of the rear end i bet i could try and make some thing that would make the rtv alot quieterbeing there isn't one out there yet . it would be a interesting thing to make. infact i would like to expriement with my rhino too.

Our RTV is one of the last ones that had the spark arrestor at the end of the muffler. That beingsaid, I can say that I couldn't tell no difference in the sound when I removed and discarded the thing >>>>

Personally, I believe the engine makes more noise than the muffler, or atleast on our it does...... I don't ever hear the muffler, it's really quiet !!! But we do hear the " rattling " of the Kubota engine !!!! And much of it went away when I installed the sliding back glass on the machine !!!!! ( Also quieted down the high rise intake suction noise )

As mentioned, I too found that most of the noise is from the engine and not from the exhaust. I ordered sound dampening foam from McMaster Carr and glued it under the bed and on the side plates next to the engine. It helps.

Pictures were posted here on the forum but that was a couple of years ago and I do not know if they are still on.

I'll also chime in, that I don't see that changing the muffler will make a dramatic difference.

Thanks, Guys for all the thoughtful replies. I think that I will accept that my Kubota is simply a noisy rig for now. I'm glad that I didn't run out and purchase an after-market muffler. Some things are best left alone.....
