Radar Gun 900xt

Hard Times

New member
Dose anyone 900xt reach the 30mph mark? The 900xt I purchase will pass the 30mph mark back to u where the kubota emble on the speedometer. So I had a buddie come with his radar gun and clock the 900xt wow 38 mph.

.... do doubt. I have drove Hard Times machine. That has got to be the
fastest RTV released.

On flat ground, that Kubota will fly >>>>

It's not much one can do to make it faster. Unless you want to spend big $$$
on turbo. And then it not but just a couple of mph faster, if your lucky.

Hard Times just lucked up and got a rocket !!!!!:2gunsfiring_v1:

You ride in his, you got to duct tape your hat on !!!
I posted awhile back ago that how fast his machine was,
Wait till he gets his high rise in he ordered ....

Think this is his new speedo guages he's fixin' to install !!!!!!
:drive2:

Something is DEFINITELY weird with that number. Incredible. I've never heard of that speed out of a RTV (unless it was in a free-fall).
I honestly don't believe my RTV can stay on many of our roads at that speed. One pothole bounce, coupled with the stiff suspension and your RTV won't be upright anymore...

would love to know how i could make my 2008 rtv faster!!!!

Hello oilmat ....

Welcome to the forum.

There is no secret way of making one faster. I've known people who tried to make them go faster, even by so called " turning up the pump". DON'T WORK !!!

Mostly, the RTV is a power machine, not a speed demon !!!!

...... two guns

My son adjusted the linkage for idle and for when the transmission ingages. It will now do 27 MPH acording to the speeedo. Before it was 24 MPH. I think that is fast enough for a 1100. They are too top heavy for any more speed.

That is something is would suggest to any RTV owner do. Not for speed. But
for perfect power performance.

.......... oh yes, it made difference !!!!

My 900 builds up a sonic shockwave at Mach 0.0355 (that's 27 mph for you lubbers) on a slight downhill grade ... if it weren't for the laws of Nature and the impenetrability of the shockwave, it could probably rip right on up to 0.0386 (28 mph). The dynamic forces generated by those kinda speeds are far more than the standard mortal can control. Don't try this on your own ... it's for seasoned veterans only.

seems like maybe a flowmeter thats been turned up or miss adjusted.on the hydraulic cranes you can turn up the pump to flow more but there is also a restricter in the lines to block off any extra flow of fluids but if you turn the flow meter up and the pump you should get a faster motor.the cranes have a fast block and a slow load block.the same pump runs both but the flow to them are diferent they also have diferent size hoses running to them. maybe check the rtv manuals to see if they do have a flow meter installed somewhere's on them.

FLOW METER

Hi Peanut,
Let me help you here - please
Flow is one of my many fields of development.
I think you may have meant to say flow regulator.
A Flow meter measure's Flow rate and can only be calibrated for indicated accuracy.
A Flow regulator is used to adjust the rate of flow, if in fact a restrictor is installed it would render a regulator upstream useless and would only increase the pressure, which could be fatal in some applications.
Automatic Transmissions and Hydrostatic Transmissions are nothing but big fluid couplings.
The issue one must be carefull with is that pressure and flow can work together or totally against each other.
I am ASE certified in total vehicle powertrain since 1974, also A&P for aircraft.
ME & EE DEGREE'S and with my military time 3 yrs have worked 45 yrs non stop and still working - lots of vehicle powertrain & emission experience.

STICK PROTECTORS

Hi Peanut,
I meant to ask you, how much are your stick protectors and what is the process to purchase.

thanks for catching that yes i meant flow regulator . pm me about the stickstoppers and i'll get with you on them.yes the flow meter run upstream and will only alow so much pressure to pass no matter how much you rev up the motor.we install them on cranes because the engine runs at top rpm's and stays there all the time so the flow meter must be installed to slowdown the amount of fluid going to each and every winch on the cranes and also the swing motors because you don't want a swing motor to take off like crazy and to a carosel thing on you.lol. yes too much pressure can be a bad thing but just a bit more can be a good thing.just like the cranes they have a safety factor they have to run by and they have to be tuned down at the manufacture before they can hit the storeroom floor. cranes are ussually ratted at half of what they are capable of picking up just to make sure that when a dummy jumps up in the cab and latches onto a load that is a few thousand pounds over what the cranes ir rated for it still won't fail. i'm sure there is some improvements that can be done to the rtv's to get them to move faster but like others have said they move just faste enough they are workers not racers.
