Love your winch, but heck, go buy you a crome hook, that thing looks dangerous on that new RTV you've got ....... JUST A PICKIN' !!!!!!

Now I like that bumper ball you have on that, like it so much, fixin' to install me one in the morning !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOW THATS SHARP THINKING !!!!!!!!!!!

They sell the hooks just by the " SNATCH BLOCKS " ~~~~

ATF - Don't quite understand your post, may be the way I'm reading it.

Two Guns - Thanks for the compliment. You are right, it definately needs a chrome hook. Ramsey forgot it and are drop shipping one.

The tennis ball works great. Was looking all around the farm for something that would work and the whole time our lab was playing with his ball...he's smarter than me but now he needs a new tennis ball...!!!

Thanks again for all the help folks.

OK now what's the next thing that old girl needs?????????

Cool! Let's spend more of your money.

Hmmmm.
Tires?
Stereo?
Extra Lighting?

What did you decide on the windshield?

bczoom - easy now...the cookie jar is only so big :o(

Extra lighting, great idea. Rear lighting would be the best option right now. Any suggestions?

I installed the Kubota OEM glass windshield 2 or so weeks ago. Night rides are great now. No bugs and wind in the face.

Put you a receiver in the front, attach a shackel to it to hook your winch hook on ~~, also can us it to tie things onto like to the trailer and / or a pulling eye etc....

Also, ASC agri-supply has some really great lights for the back, ~~ PETERSON MANUFACTURING CO., # 16368 Recessed light in rubber housing. This is what I use on farm equipment, and installed them on the back of my RTV, they are tuff, and work great ~~~~ $ 14.49 each~~~~

Like 2-guns, I have a few of those tractor lights.
Below a (an old) pic of the back of my RTV.
On either side of the rear ROPS cage, one of these lights was installed. They were a piece of cake to mount in that I just took the nut off the cage mount, put the light on and put the nut back on. On these lights, since they can swivel, I didn't tighten the swivel bolt down very tight. This allows me to swivel the lights out so the beam of light is to the side of the RTV. This has proven handy when I need to work or see off the side of the RTV at night (while getting firewood or whatever).

If you look below the bed, slightly off to the left side is another one of these lights. It illuminates the rear receiver area and directly behind the RTV. I have a spreader that mounts to the rear tailgate. Since the spreader would only be used a couple times a year, the harness/quick-connect that's back there isn't doing much the rest of the year. So, I put a light down there with the same quick-connect as the spreader. If I need the spreader, I just disconnect the light. The rest of the year, that light is plugged in.

The last rearward facing is a little harder to see. Look closely where the cage and roof meet, right in the center. The roof strobe light wire actually goes a little over this light. This light is used to illuminate the cargo box area. There's another just on the inside of the cage pointing into the passenger compartment. These are Warn trail lights. They're smaller than the round tractor lights and fit perfectly in that area.

Well, there's some ideas. To do all of them it's about $100 (but the Warn lights are almost 1/2 of that).

Great suggestion on setting up the lights.[H] How did you setup you light switches in the cab? Do you have a picture?

Thanks

There's a lot of different setups that have been discussed on the forum.
Do a search on the forum for marine (because a lot of us are using marine grade switches) or lights or switches or console or similar.

Here's one of the first I found.

Hey Keybal,

Welcome back. Haven't seen you posting lately. I like the price of the amsteel on that site. They don't say and I can't see the detail in the picture but does it come with the correct spool connection for the Warn and Ramsey winches?
Here's the page I'm looking at. http://cseoffroad.com/ab316.html

I haven't had much time to play lately, so I only get sneak around the forum's on occasion.

As far as the Amsteel Blue cable, as I can remember, it is very easy to install. The is some kind of wedge or keyway that the cable get wrapped around and inserted into the drum on the winch. it dosn't matter if's it cable or rope.

The web address is correct. Go down the left side of the site to the "Syntheic Winch Rope" and click on there. Then click on the Amstel Blue section. This brings up the different sizes of rope. Most of the strengths are listed in the details. (the 3/16" is listed as 5,400#, the 5/16" as 13,700#). You will also need the solid fairlead that they sell.

You can also go to the Samson Rope site: www.samsonrope.comand look up the info for Amsteel Blue.

Hope that this helps.

I've been finding there's 2 different types of connections. I guess I need to phone in my order to assure I get the correct one.
Take a look at CSE's e-bay item 200133743257. In the pic, you can see it has a loop instead of a wedge. I don't think this is compatible with the Warn or Ramsey winches.

I'll check out the samson site.

I'm pretty sure I have a Hawse fairlead (or 2) laying around here and will switch it when I get the rope.
