Rear view mirror install

I might have posted this before but I am getting old.

I made this about 5 years back. I needed a rear view mirror as I drive on gravel roads to go see the neighbors. I hate drilling holes to mount things on my 900 or any other equipment.

You cut a 3 inch piece of 2 inch PVC. Cut ¼ if the side away. Then drill a hole and counter sink the hole from the inside. Then attach the mirror with a flat head screw.

Then when the wife was not looking, I stole one of her rubber place mats. Put double stick tape on the inside of the PVC and covered that with the place mat material. That gives it grip to the roll bar. One of the nice things is if someone hits their head on it, it moves.

Go on any of the boat parts web sites and get one of their ski-boat rear view mirrors. It has a very wide view and with their brackets, it installs on the 'Bota with no problem. I've had mine for 3 years. It's the best I have found.

Good idea!

Kerry, Now that is real nice. I like to save money and I have enough scraps around that I could do this and save $$$ over buying one. When the old cable ties come loose on my mirror, I will go this route. Thanks for the info. This idea would win in one of the farm magazines "idea" articles. Bordercollie

Here is what I used mounted right to cab or rops i forgt which with no drilling works great.
