ROPS HIGH AIR INTAKE, THIS WILL KEEP THE FILTERS CLEAN FOR AWHILE !!!!

This is going to be a big Plus for the dusty situations ~~~~

I have the soft doors and clear plastic window that snaps on the rear of the screen. Just wondering if it slides up under the mounting or if has to be cut to go around the ROPS Filter.

Also - explain more about the Remote Control GoLight?

Thanks

Part # V4271 High Mount Cleaner ROPS Kit ~~~~
This is for the units without the cab.( this is the one I had my dealer to order for us, matter of fact, he ordered two extra for his personal units he uses on his farms.) This is going to be a big plus for me out in the swamps, and on the plantation working my summer & winter deer plots.
Other Cleaner Kits are:
V4272 High Mount Cleaner Cab Kit
V4273 High Mount Air Cleaner Cab Conversion Kit

On your situation, I would check with my dealer and see which one it would take.Kutbota makes three different High Mount Kits. Now which one that would fit yours, I don't know. Also, Is your doors & clear plastic window aftermarket or OEM KUBOTA. Now I am trying to figure this out, but I am guessing that if you would have to purchase the V4271kit, the air box would bolt over your window. That is something I really think you would have to go to your dealer and look into his book and just see what would and would not work. About the Styker GOLIGHT, it is a wireless & or wire style search light. I have seen them on many vehicles with the law enforcement, marine & militaryuse. They are a hell of a spotlight. They can be seen on Golight.com , and look for the Stryker Model. They were going from anywhere from $400.00 to &500.00 plus, but they is a company on ebay selling them for$175.00 & free shipping. Worth every pennie of it .Look up item #280118767112, they have two and 1/2 days of today. Got mine in really quick, and they are a good company to do business with .....

I'd like to see some pictures of this go-light? What is it? Some kinda super spot?

I recon you'd call it a super searchlight, go to golight.com, & look up the [6] STRYKER Model ~~~~~~~

If I remember right, it's 500,000 candle power, 370 degree rotation, 130 degree vertical, wireless remote searchlight, I have seen these in use, and they are the best light source ever. They engineered this thingperfect !!!! Also tuff as a wart hog.

I received my High ROPS Air Intake from Neil about 2 weeks ago and it was very easy to install. Since I have the soft doors and rear window I was concerned about the mounting as the pictures showed it mounting to the rear screen. Neil assured me the model for mine would work just fine with the soft window and he was dead on (as he always seems to be).

My Intake has a mounting bracket that is mounted to the roof. It uses the existing bolts for the roof so it is real simple to remove the nuts, drop the beacket on, continue with the rest of the install. I will try to get some close up pictures uploaded soon.

The new filter is almost twice the length of the old. I think the additional air into the system as well as it not being clogged all the time has turned my RTV into a new machine. It seems to run better at slower speeds and has more power. This could all be my imagination but it really does seem to be a lot happier with the new air intake.

The only problem with the install was the paint on the welded on nuts on the air cleaner bracket. What a pain to get them cleaned out so a bolt would thread into them. I didn't have the correct tap to run through so it was a long time trying to manually clean out the baked on paint.

Neil - when will Kubota realize that these machines live their life in the dirt and dust and having an undersized air intake mounted in front of a tire is just poor design.

Thanks for all your help Neil! I love it and it you are a pleasure to do business with. On another note - can you help me out with getting my fuel tank replaced? Just kidding - I will make the journey to my local dealer.

Look forward to seeing your pictures. This might be something I would be interested in doing since it mounts on the roof bolts. I have speakers mounted on the back screen and the air filter kit I've seen pictures of wouldn't work for me.

Glad to hear its working out for you. This is one of those things that i think I would prefer to see as optional. The dirt and dust is not an issue for many people, I think there would probably be as many objections to the air cleaner being up there as there are people who like it.

No doubt though that a few simple things like keeping the air filter clean and getting the crap out of the spark arrester can make a world of difference in the performance of the machine.

I will try to get them this evening. How about some pictures of your speakers? I was pondering speaker mounting last night and considering mounting a couple to the screen and a couple in the overhead console (yet to be fabricated overhead console).

Neil,

Good point - I on the other hand think the high rops intake looks cool :)!!!

I was amazed how clogged my spark arrestor was after only a month of service. Tossed that thing in the trash prety fast.

I'm sorry I cannot post some pictures. My digital camera is broken. bczoom has some pictures of his speakers on this forum which are mounted on the back screen.. Just do a search for radio or speakers and you will find them. I have two marine speakers mounted on each side just under the roof and a marine boom box in the middle of them.

Here's a link to the thread where you can see my speakers.
http://compacttractorreview.com/cs/forums/thread/4653.aspx

For mounting speakers (or anything else to the ROPS), I like O-Clamps. Do a search on e-bay for ''O-Clamp''. They're for mounting speakers and lights for a DJ system. You'll need the 2" but most are sold as 1.5" and 2". The 2" is achieved by removing a sleeve.

EDIT: If you look at my setup in the thread above, you'll see why I can't switch to the high air intake. There's just no space to mount it...

bczoom,

Did you put a bigger battery in for all your extra accessories ? Seems like you may have said something to that effect sometime back ...~~~ I have for the last few weeks been thinking of getting a bigger battery for my RTV, been looking at the Odyessy at http://www.allterrainonline.com/view.php?nav=subcat10&catID=878&prodID=1084 or something close to it !!!!

Also, what size alternator does these RTV 900 have on them from the factory ..... At the rate some of usare going with the add on goodies, a man just about needs to start lookin' for a generator >>>>

Looks like there should be a way to plumb you high rise intake on yours somehow !!!!

Yes, I replaced the OEM with a deep-cycle marine battery.
In the Odyssey line, I'd probably go up 1 step from the 925 and pick the 1200.
Optima also makes a good battery.
The one I bought is from a local manufacturer but it's similar. I believe the one I have also has a larger reserve (somewhere around 150 minutes).

I don't have very dirty/dusty conditions where I drive and don't have any issues with the OEM air filter.

I have thought about running a hose/pipe underneath from the air filter and coming upfront under the hood and installing the air filter there, like as in atruck or car. But, there are openings where dust can get in there from the front tires. It may be possible to seal them up and make it work and mount it where it gets its air from the opening where the winch mount is. Will have to look at it some more.

Hi Chandler, I got tired of cleaning/buying air cleaners so I simply left the air cleaner where it was but extended the air intake to up and under the edge of my roof. I did this with PVC pipe.I also used a "T" with a cap glued on the bottom edge as a moisture drain. I drilled a small hole in it for this purpose. The 2nd opening is coming out of the cleanerhose, 3rd going to the pipe.I have had great results with this. This is my second summer and no problems yet. Bordercollie&]
