RTV 1100 and X1100 doors

The drivers side door on my X1100 has become increasingly difficult to open from the inside. So today I decided to see what the problem was. While I didn't see any thing obviously wrong with the mechanism I did notice some surface rust at the bottom of the door by the weep holes. Additionally I have seen quite a few 1100's for sale wit the bottom of the doors ate up with rust. Does any one have a good way to keed the doors from rusting out? I did spray a ton of fluid film down there. To replace both doors we are talking about 5k and I dont want to go down that road.

That's all I've been doing, spraying mine with Krown and Fluid Film. Hopefully it helps.

You could also open up (drill out) the weep holes,make them bigger to allow more area for drain an debree.rust will clog the holes then hold water, me personally I would not only do that,but make more holes for it to breath as well.
The fluid film is a must as well.you can get a can of fluid film an also a 2 or 3 foot section of say oil pressure tubing,or even air shock plastic tubing an attach it to the fluid film straw with will allow you to send it down areas to reach everywhere.also can get a sewing needle an poke holes in the tubing at the end with will allow the fluid film to spray in all directions inside.works great an I do it to my entire machine.

New here but lots of experience with rust.
Wool Wax, Fluid Film and others work well. If you have rust, a conversion product known as Extend is very good.
3M sells a “Cavity Wax” which can be found on Amazon. There is also an associated “wand kit” which will spray the product in a 360 degree fan.
Coverage is great. There are three different lengths of wands in the kit.
Rust-Oleum sells a spray product called Rust Reformer. #248658 at Amazon.
Have used it on truck frames after cleaning them up.
 
I treated mine with Wood Wax right away. So far it seems to work. It is only two years old, but has been worked every day. I do blow air into the holes from time to time to make sure all is clear.
