Hey everyone. wondering if someone could help me out. I have a rtv 1100 that wont start, thought it was a fuel delivery problem but when I removed the shut off solenoid it started and ran like a top. so I bought new shut off. Same thing. any ideas??? thanks

The solenoid may need adjusting. There are shims on some solenoid models. See if the solenoid lever travels enough. With the bed raised, give her a look and observe the travel it makes. If you can get it to crank, it would be nice to hear the click or tink noise it should make when the key has been turned off - after a few seconds.

Edit : there are several posts on thatstop solenoid on the best rtv forum in the world- this one . try this one http://www.nettractortalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14088&highlight=stop+solenoid :).

it makes the click fully retracts. just at a loss how it would work one day, next day wont start. might try to find some shims. thx so much

You have eliminated that solenoid so it is probably what Dennis said.. the safety switch.. lots of posts on that too. Go to the search label on the border and type in neutral safety switch to find even more choices to read. bordercollie

so I should apologize I wasn't a little more clear....... It would turn over but not start. I pulled the pump to see if the shut off rack slide freely and if the wasn't a spring broken inside. everything was working. got everything back together, left the solenoid off but I grounded it out, and turned the machine over. turns out I had a short in the ignition switch to the solenoid, as soon as I would turn over machine I would loose power to shut off solenoid. got it running. thanks guys have a good day
