RTV 900 dies when returning to idle

I have this 3cyl diesel Kubota RTV900, that has a tendency to die when letting off the accelerator. I have tinkered with the idle stop, and I thin it is better, but I am wondering if anyone has any experience with this. The injection pump is a cartridge type that comes out from the top of a housing. I am assuming the governor assy is located forward of it where the idle stop, throttle lever and kill lever come through another little cover. Any ideas? Thanks..

Texczech,

How often does this happen? Have you noticed that it's happening in the below-freezing temps y'all have been getting?

When was the last time you replaced the fuel filter? How does the fuel look in the filter?

Thinking of the unseasonably cold temps you're having and wondering if you may have some water separation or gelling of the fuel. Up here, we mix some kero in with the fuel (for thinning) as well as add a Cetane booster.

I don't have a 900, nor the manual for one, but I do remember talk about changing idle speeds on this forum and it was noted that there is 3 screws that all look like idle adjustments, but only one is the one you should be adjusting. Hope you are playing with the right one!

How is it on the restart? Is it hard to restart it after it dies? bczoom has a good point, I have found that a filter issue can make it hard to restart it even if it was running fine previously.

hello had the same problem after checking all what the post are saying checked the pump pressure lift pump that is it was the problem not enough pressure need 15 lb to be ok.
