RTV 900 Problem

I have a RTV 900 with 40 hours on it. Good machine but I have encountered a problem with slow speed operation. I own a drivign range and I attach a ball picker to the front of the unit. It weighs less than 500lbs loaded with balls. The machine is listed as being cabable of pushing 650lbs. ( I am sure it can do more) After 45 - 60 minutes of low range, low speed picking the engine revs but the machine just sits there. I will let it cool down and it will run fine for another 10 - 15 minutes and then stop again.

Any other time I can run it at normal speed with no problems.

The dealer has been useless at this point. That will be another post.

Thanks

My suggestion, you are close enoughto a 50 hr. service job.Changeengine oil and filter !!!

And changetransmission fluid and filter. And when yougo back with you transmission fluid, go back with theKUBOTA SUPER UDT FLUIDS, and use nothing but the KUBOTA filters.

How's the temp running on your machinewhen this starts to show up ?

Just like any other, when things are new, you will get small metal shavings in the filters during the first changes. This is all part of it. You running yours in Low that much, might of got all the shavings just a little earlier..... But try changeing the trans. fluids and filters, and be sure to go back with the Super Kubota UDT >>>>>

The engine temp is normal. Not even near the red. Also my land is very flat.

The dealer did change the transmission fluid to the SUDT. He could not replicated the problem at his shop,as I told him he could not, but they thought thismight correct the problem.(I paid alot of money for a"might")

Thanks for your info. We will see what happens tonight.

Your unit should pull like a Willys in 4WD regardless of the hours.

There are several posts regarding the cable arrangements for the engine throttle and the transmission selector on the trans case. If they are not synchronized correctlyor have too much slack in the cables then you'll have problems. I think there are some posts regarding oil temperatures, too, for the trans. Use the search function and type in "no power", "low power", etc.

I take it that your ball picker runs off the hydraulic circuit for accessories. Since the trans and the accessory circuits are separate they should not be affecting each other. IS the engine running hot or is the floor of the bed really hot?

Two Guns has good point that you might have something caught up in the Trans filters.

I can't think of an easier chore for a 900 than running slow in low on a flat driving range...

If worse comes to worse call Kubota directly.

Once you get it straightened out you'll really appreciate the fuel savings and ease of handling.
