RTV died while fueling

I have been using these, EZ Pour spouts, in several styles of gas/water/kerosene/diesel cans that we all pretty much use...............

This is the Amazon link but one can get to the EZ Pour websight:

Again, been using these for several years now and they are a simple fix for the 3 handed Obama spouts and a sure fire method to add an extension to the filler nozzle/hose.........These work.........God bless.......Dennis

It also eats rubber and plastic seals, o-rings, and gaskets
I hate the whole idea of ethanol. So much wildlife habitat has been destroyed to grow corn for ethanol. I don't remember the exact figures, but Ducks Unlimited magazine had several articles on this subject. And as fuel ethanol is not very efficient, mileage wise. One may spend less money per gallon buying "ethanolized " gasoline, but then the mileage will be less. Furthermore, it takes more fossil fuels to grow corn and make ethanol than ethanol can replace. It's like exchanging a dollar bill for 90 cents in small change. And, as you wrote, ethanol is harmful to small engines. I do not even buy ethanol/gasoline mixture for my Ford F 150 even though it is supposed to run on it. It's a matter of principle more that anything else. My other vehicle (my wife's) is a 2008 Ford Escape bought in Alaska (where no gas station carries ethanolized gas), and simply will not run well on ethanol. Once my wife filled it up with that crap, and when I drove it I thought something was wrong with the engine or the transmission. It could not accelerate beyond a certain rpm, and was cutting out.
Death to ethanol!

IMO if you are serious about fuel and keeping it clean and filtered I use one of these here at the house.http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200329831_200329831

searching the almighty web they can be found cheaper. You attach it to any 55 gallon drum or you can add it on a 30 gallon drum.Just make sure you add a vent so you dont suck the drum in.They have removable screw on filters and are stupid simple to change.I would not add any fuel without it being filtered.MOst diesel is very dirty to begin with right out of the pump. This way I can filter out all dirt and condensation and make filling as easy as pulling up to a fuel pump at a gas station. For the price I paid for the machine and the tractor i look at it as an insurance policy to keep the fuel system clean at all times.
Just my 2 cents worth.
