LOL...that's all mine has to do also Heatwave. Haul grandkids and a sawed off wiener dog around. Hard work you know. In the bota's defense it has been known to haul the weed whacker to the end of the drive way for a bit of a workout.

I have some pictures from years past... but the years are all about the same but for getting older . The RTV functions not only as a hauler but an office as well.. collie

Bordercollie. Why dual numbers on the tags?

top numbers tells us who her mama was/is. Those yellow tags are our commercial cow numbers. There is also a bunch of them on my tool box lid .
Our registered cows have a red tag# and a white billboard with sire descriptions.

My cousin is a chicken farmer in Ark so I know it is hard work. collie

Sounds like y'all have it worked out, all of ours are registered so we don't have to tell the difference there. All calves get the same number as mom unless we keep the heifer, then she will get a similar # example. 135 has a calf, we keep her baby, it grows and becomes v135 if we keep v135 baby it becomes vs135. I want to do a whole new numbering system

Chicken Farmer, We started our registered herd with A as the first letter and now we are on X. The next letter follows each year. We didn't use Q because it looks like an O etc.... Anyways, this is a picture of a registered calf and her tags. (boys are green in the left ear) white billboards other ear.
The commercial herd goes back to the 1930's and my bil's Dad start of 'em so we just keep them for the history part. We are at our limit AI ing about 120 registered in Jan and Feb. This year, we are doing ET on about 80 others .. I 'm not looking forward to that prep.........
Maybe Pepr will chime in before long, he is a cattleman too. :) collie

Wow look at those tags lol. He has more numbers than hair. We don't Ai any right now. We breed registered Angus to Angus and some to Hereford. Don't ask my why but those seem to sell very well especially the heifers. We actually haven't kept any in about 4 years. As well as they sell its just more profitable to sell the calf take that money and buy a registered bred heifer.
